Date: 2011-01-21 03:35 am (UTC)As for Nick, he was an ass...pushes Greg to get her number, then can't wait to get the "I told you so" out when it goes sour.
All-in-all...the episode wasn't that great. :(

Date: 2011-01-21 03:37 am (UTC)And Nick's baseball analogy? I wish it would have just gone over poor Greg's head. Then at least he would not have been made a fool of!
Was it just me? Or, did it seem like both Catherine and Nick were throwing out the "I told you so"s?
Poor Greg :( I sure hope
And yeah...Nicky boy is a happy man.

Date: 2011-01-21 04:51 pm (UTC)I loved Greg being all adorkable, but was especially thrilled he saw through her visit to the lab immediately.
I can totally disregard this for Nick/Greg fanon because of the obvious missing scene at the end where we zoom out on slender hands and a keyboard in front of a monitor typing the words "The End". Then the camera pans up to Greg's face (and he is surely wearing his fedora *g*
(After the old Vegas book -mentioned in canon- Greg tried his hand at a Noir Novel in which he mixes his love for classic PI crimes with his own experience as a CSI)
There. All fixed.

Date: 2011-01-21 02:44 pm (UTC)The story line of the whole Vagas Legend thing was kind of cool, and there were a few LOL moments from our favourites (oh superdave, how I heart you so) but everything else. No. Just, no.

Date: 2011-01-21 06:45 pm (UTC)Greg was so out of character....I agree with what others have said about everyone coming off as being uncomfortable...It had that vibe all through the episode...With the exception of Hodges...He always comes off Holier than thou..;)
I think Dita was too much for the show...By that i mean she really over played the character...She didn't come across as a 4th grade teacher AT ALL...She was very UGGG....Disappointed!!!! I wish that the love interest for Greg if not Nick would be a little more i dunno "Normal" meaning down to earth...Not so...Glamorous...Bad acting makes show very BAD Very Bad Indeed!!!!
My slasher side is thinking Nick is accommodating Greg due to a conversation they'd had in private prior to Miss Thang walking into Greg's life...Something along the lines of the age difference and Nick wanting Greg to explore life outside of him for awhile to make sure he's truly sure with Nick is where he wants to be....And of course we all know the outcome to this??? OF COURSE HE WANTS TO BE WITH NICK!!!!!!!!!

Date: 2011-01-22 03:44 am (UTC)I was going to say that Nick seemed to push Greg towards her as though he was trying to give him an ok to play around with his bi side, knowing that in the end Greg would come right back to him...where he belongs. :-)

Date: 2011-01-21 08:03 pm (UTC)I thought it was a pretty good episode. I was hoping to get great Greg scenes and I wasn't disapointed. I'm happy that Greg got some emotional scenes for a change, considering he's usually the comic relief. Not that there's nothing wrong with that,=) but it's nice to get some variation and I think Eric did a great job.
I think Dita did an okay job and that was pretty much all I was expecting from her, considering this was her first acting job. IMO, there have been far worse guest actors in CSI (*cough* Biber *cough*).
The plot wasn't the most plausible one: I have to agree with Greg,Ellen (or whatever her real name was) just didn't seem like a cold blooded murderer and I find it hard to belive she would have organiced those killings. But it gave a Greg a good emotional scene, so I can live with it.
Okay, here's my little opinion about the episode. Sorry if I don't make any sense, but I'm almost falling asleep here, so you have to forgive me.=D I woke up two hours earlier today, just so I could watch the episode before school and now I'm paying for it.=)

Date: 2011-01-22 02:14 am (UTC)Personally, I think I just wanted to stay at the scene with Nick, Greg and Langston at the light table, pause my TiVo and just stare at Nick's package all afternoon/evening. I think TPTB were trying to make up for the episode being so mediocre by putting Nick into some pants that more than made up for it! *evil, evil smirk*

Date: 2011-01-22 07:36 am (UTC)Oh yes. That's what I did. He was wearing my favorite pair of jeans:)
Greg was looking mighty fine too, but I'm a Nick girl and sure wasn't disappointed. I even loved how he teased Greg.
Seeing as Greg imagined all this, I'm not surprised he put Nick in those scrumptiously tight jeans and made him annoying alpha male *g*

Date: 2011-01-22 09:58 pm (UTC)I also don't think we've got to see Greg much out of the workplace or working on cases, so it's difficult to say whether he was out of character because we haven't really seen how he acts out of where we normally see them. I don't think he was, anyway.
I like the fact the guys' friendship has progressed and they act like friends in this episode as opposed to just co-workers.
Nice watch, Greg.
I liked Catherine and Greg's moment and I don't think Nick was as harsh with the 'I told you so' as I was expecting.

Date: 2011-01-23 07:06 am (UTC)And it does seem like their friendship has progressed a lot, it was great to see them interacting as I'd imagine they would off the clock.
p.s.: I like your icon! Greg's cute, pouty face makes me giggle.

Date: 2011-01-23 03:10 am (UTC)To begin, I’m writing the entire “Greg gets laid by anyone but Nick” storyline off to Nick’s prodding. I’m convinced that he pushed Greg into it to prove (to himself) that Greg could no longer live the life he did before Nick came into the picture (I’m of the Greg is bi school of thinking). Nick was having some sort of ego issue and decided that a trip into hoochie land would send Greg running back to him with open arms. Hence the reason he all but pushed Greg at the obviously “too sexy for Greg’s own good,” babe.
I’m a Nick girl, but have to admit that he was being a bit of an ass in this one. He actually taunted Greg into making the call. Unfortunately for him the plan backfired and he soon found his Greggo falling for the sexy babe. Then, when it became obvious that Greg was in over his head, Nick all but demanded that Greg put an end to the affair.
As far as Greg being OOC, I’m in the minority here as well. He was a bit flustered and nervous when he asked for the woman’s number, and had a bit of a bounce in his step when he turned away (just like the old days when he was floundering around Sara). When they were on the date, I did have a fleeting moment of feeling Greg was OOC, but then I realized that I’d never seen him in that situation before. For me, it was Greg being on the date that was OOC and not Greg himself.
The plot was a bit too predictable, but I liked the whole 1940’s GSpd thing they had going on.
Greg looked fabulous. His hair was lightly tussled and his clothing, though modern, had a vintage flavor.
And Nick looked good as well. His hair was a bit longer on top. It made him look masculine rather than menacing.
Wow! Sorry that was so long.

Date: 2011-01-23 12:40 pm (UTC)I didn't mind the episode either, and I think most people who attacked the acting abilities and yelled OOCness did so in a brave attempt to ignore the story. I find there are other options to adjust canon to our needs *grins*
I agree with you on Greg being himself: he was as adorkable as I imagined. As for Nick; you already read my alternate ending and I'm sticking by that: Greg obviously imagined all this, who else would put Nick in those scrumptiously tight jeans and make him annoying alpha male *g* The damsel in distress is a GSPD trademark. (As is turning her into a crazy lady in the end;)

Date: 2011-01-23 06:36 pm (UTC)Nick was a bit weird in it, simply because if he hadn't kept his trap shut at the start Greg probably wouldn't have even got her number out of nerves, but I quite liked their general friendship chats. Okay, so they needed a body to walk up to in order to have said friendship chats (perhaps that's a new episode? Serial killer on order because they needed a quick chat about something), but at least it's showing them as close friends rather than the first few episodes where they seemed a little .. I don't know, distant I guess.
Plot was too obvious, though. Anyone who approaches with that hairstyle and a picnic basket is up to something.
Mind you, I am once again, a Nick girl and therefore I suspect I'd probably get a little hot under the collar if it was Nick rather than Greg getting sucked in ;)

Date: 2011-01-23 07:06 pm (UTC)Also: *highfives another Nickgirl* I don't mind seeing Greg flirt, but Nick is just awkward with women, no matter how much TPTB want us to believe he's a ladiesman *g*
