S1Ep1: The Pilot
Did you know Nick & Greg worked together in the very first episode of CSI? If you've seen it, you can reminisce here. How anyone could not notice the chemistry between these guys is a mystery to us: this is obviously one of the scenes that inspired fandom. (If you haven't seen it before, beware of spoilers and screencaps behind the cut.)
Remember Nick's awkward attempt to start a conversation while trying not to think about the anal swabs Greg just mentioned?
Here is the whole scene {and maybe some subtext}
DNA LAB: Greg takes Nick's swab and processes it.
Greg Sanders: So, this is it, huh? The $8,000 q-tip.
Nick Stokes: Well, you're the chemist. I just need to know what knocked the
old man out. {Mmmm, he's got really nice hands. I dig the wristband}
Greg Sanders: In 20 seconds, this'll give us a complete chemical breakdown
right down to the atom. But I'm going to warn you, though. These mouth swabs don't always read. Vaginal swabs, no problem. Anal swabs-- money.
Nick Stokes: Anal swabs?
Greg Sanders: Anal swabs.
Nick Stokes: Ouch.
Greg runs the machine...
{Awkward... Quick! Think of something to talk about!}
Nick Stokes: Dude, you get NFL-2K for Dreamcast?
Greg Sanders: Yeah. Bought it the day it came out. Those graphics are killer,
aren't they? My team's the Falcons. Who do you use?
Nick Stokes: Randy Moss.
{Ehm. Wrong answer}
The machine whirs and beeps...
Nick Stokes: It didn't take, did it?
Greg Sanders: A hint of saliva; some denture adhesive... that's it.
Greg Sanders: Sorry, man.
{That's okay, I still dig you}

This scene is one of my favorites. You can almost hear Nick thinking “Anal Swabbs? - Don’tBlushDon’tBlushDon’tBlushDon’tBlush – Shit! I’mBlushingI’mBlushingI’mBlushingI’mBlushing.”
The look on Greg’s face when Nick admits to using Randy Moss is priceless.
I miss wristband wearing – crooked jaw Greg. (Um, does anyone know why CSI-3 Sanders jaw is seems straight compared to Love of the Lab Greggo?)

I had to find out who this Randy Moss person was, but still didn't get it: I'm so out of the loop of sports in general, let alone American football. But Greg's face says it all. I don't think Nick noticed though: he was still too caught up in his own thoughts;)
Okay, now you made me want to do research on Greg's jaw; I usually focus on the whole face and he does seem to get younger and prettier every year, maybe you figured out why. *off to check collection of screencaps*
