Warning: Once again, This is unbeated. There are mistakes and I am sorry. So please forgive me for any of them.
Don't act gay, Greggo because those people down where Nick lives will shoot you for just looking gay. Just don't act like...well you. Okay? Greg's mother's words playing over and over in his head. His hands were slightly shaking in his lap until he felt a gentle squeeze over his right hand.
"You alright?" Nick asked holding Greg's hand tightly to his. "You don't look too healthy G."
"I'm fine just a little nervous." Greg said smiling sweetly. Nick kissed his hand and locked eyes will him for a few moments but soon his eyes were on the road again.
"Is this about what your mom said?" Nick voice sounded a little annoyed but he bit it back with a small laugh.
"Is it true?" Greg's hand shaking again. Nick laughed even harder that time making his boyfriend's eyes narrow.
"Greg, No one is going to shot you. I promise. They are all going to love you. They are going to say. Oh how wonderful, Nicky has brought a handsome friend over and they will fuss over you and blah blah. You know...like people always do when they met you."
"Friend?" Greg's eyebrow raised as well as his voice and Nick sighed quietly.
"Friend." Nick repeated with another squeeze to Greg's hand.
"Ahh, Daddy doesn't need to know that his pride and joy likes guys." Greg said taking it in good humor but Nick knew how his partner felt about all the secrets and lies he told. Greg was happy they were together. Hell he was always happy. Nick just wished he was as carefree as his Greg. He just wanted his family to met the love of his life, and not just some friend.
"Be nice." Nick warned and they pulled up to the ranch house. Greg's eyes wandered over Nick's childhood home and felt like he was pulled into some old western movie. The huge white house with light blue shutters loomed over a huge landscape of trees, flower beds and shrubs. Greg stepped out of the rental car they had got at the airport and looked around. Horses and cattle made noises that Greg had only heard on those specials on the Discovery Channel. Three dogs ran off of the porch barking and yapping.
"Ringo! Red! Benji! Hey boys." Nick called to the dogs and rubbed their ears and backs. "Who's my good boys? Huh? Have ya missed me?"
"Nice house." Greg announced over the yelling of Nick's family coming out of the house. Greg swallowed and fought off the reaction to run into the truck, grab Nick and hold him until the family was gone. However, He just stood there and waited for all the hugs and kisses to end so they would finally notice him. As he waited the dogs made their way over to him, Greg stiffened at first, then held out his hand to the huge mutts.
"Good doggie. Nice doggie." Greg said squatting on his heels and petting the dogs. His gentle touch getting rewarded with lots of licks and nudges from the dogs.
"NICK!!! Oh my God! My baby! My baby is here." Nick's mom was yelling and hugging him as all his other brothers and sisters trying to get a piece of them.
"Mom...Mom...Hey sis. Dad. Sup Bubba? Mom I can't breath." Nick said trying to make his way out of the huddle of grasping arms and sloppy kisses. Nick's focus locked on Greg as he was petting the dogs. A smile crossed Nick's lips and he took a sigh of relief that Greg wasn't already up a tree, praying to whoever, that he was anywhere else but here.
"Nicky. Glad you got here safely." Nick's brother was saying as Nick finally got free of them.
"Guys. Guys settle down. I have someone I want you to meet. This is Greg Sanders. He is a CSI also." Greg hearing his name looked up to see all eyes on him. He patted one of the dogs, one last time, and walked over to them.
"Hi." Greg said slowly and then was attacked. Greg closed his eyes, ready for the guns and torches but felt only hugs and kisses to his cheek, and people's hands shaking his. He was not going to die.
"Great to meet one of Nick's friend."
"It's a pleasure, Greg."
"Nick has told us a lot about you."
"I didn't know Nicky had any hot friends." Greg laughed and smiled trying his best to reply to each comment until he felt Nick's hand on his back pushing him forward.
"How about we all go inside?" Nick suggested and was answered with a sea of nodding heads.

"I think I am gonna take Greg fishing." Nick announced sitting next to Greg and his brother on the couch. Greg looked at him. Fishing, that wasn't on the list of things to do at Nick's house. Greg thought with a frown but apparently from all the smiling faces, it was a good idea.
"Have you ever been fishing Greg?" Mr. Stokes asked taking a sip of his tea.
"No sir." Greg said still feeling tense. Nick's father laughed and smiled at the young man sitting next to his son.
"Greg, How many times do I have to tell you? You don't have to call me sir."
"It just doesn't fell right. You are a judge and I can't see not showing respect to you even if you are not on the bench at the moment." Greg confession was met with a bunch of awes and how sweets which made Nick smile.
"Well I think we will head off. We will be back. It might be later early in the morning though." Nick said nudging Greg's leg as he got up. Greg followed him out the door saying good-bye to everyone.
"Well he was a lovely young man. I really liked him." Nick's mom gushed as she watched her son put his arm around the man of her compliments.
"It's too bad, he was so nervous. He looks like he had loads to talk about. You could see it running through his mind." One of Nick's sister's said smiling also watching Nick and Greg through the window. She watched Nick load the fishing tackle as Greg watched attentively then they finally loaded up.
"I just wish he would tell us. Everyone in this room knows that him and Greg are a couple. Why can't he tell us?" Nick's brother asked going back to his seat. The sound of a engine leaving the ranch and going down a dirt road echoed in the living room.
"Because your brother is a proud man and doesn't want your mother and I to be ashamed of him. Which I don't think is earthly possible. He could blow up the earth and I would be proud of him because no one else would have even done it. I think it is just a matter of time. Those two are serious and Nick will tell us he loves that young man soon. Maybe sooner then we know." Mr. Stokes turned on the t.v. as the rest of the family settled down in their seats.

Greg's arms were around Nick's neck as he kissed his ear, whispering vulgar promises in his ear. Nick held him close and brightened a deeper red with every word out of Greg's mouth. Greg bit down on Nick's ear making him pull their bodies even closer. Nick assaulted Greg's mouth with his lips and tongue. They kissed for several moments until Nick's breath started leaving him and Greg's pants were bulging.
"You are awful. Do you know that?" Nick whispered as Greg pushed him up against the truck. Nick's wanted to wrap his legs around Greg so bad.
"Aren't we suppose to be fishing?" Greg teased as he ran his tongue along Nick's jawline. Nick groaned and thrust into Greg's hips making the new CSI laugh.
"Fishing...what is that?" Nick started unbuttoning Greg's shirt but was stopped by the younger man hands on his.
"Nick. We can't do this in the middle of a freaking field."
"Why not? That is what you do in the country. No one can see us." Nick was desperate. He hadn't so much as touched Greg in the last four hours and his body was longing for Greg's skin against his.
"Wow now that was romantic. Did you tell all your girlfriends that? Shh nobody's looking." Greg laughed and moved away from Nick taking a carbon rod in his hand.
"You are such a tease, G." Greg looked back at Nick and winked at him. The spikey haired man looked down at the rod.
"How do I work this?" Nick laughed and wrapped his arms around him. He placed his hands over Greg's and kissed his neck.
"You don't work a fishing rod. You cast a fishing rod like this." Nick bend his and Greg's elbow and placed the rod behind them, and then cast the fishing rod into the little pond, his body pressing against Greg's the whole time.
"I like fishing." Greg said finally as he watched the orange cork that floated above water ride the waves. Nick sat down on the ground and pulled Greg into his arms, Greg sat down and leaned against Nick's chest.
"I like you." Nick said nuzzling his nose into Greg's neck making him giggle. Nick loved that reaction.
"No, you love me." Greg corrected and then shifted a little. "Did it move?"
"Yea but that is not a fish. You will feel a little jerk on the pole and the cork will go under the water. It will take a little while." Nick explained and rested his head on Greg's shoulder.
"I don't have a very long attention span, you know." Greg stated talking again. He was never comfortable with silence. Nick closed his eyes and just let Greg's scent waste over him. He came crashing back to reality with a quick hit to the gut from Greg's elbow.
"Nick!! Nick, It went under. I got one. I got one!!" Greg said jumping up. Nick followed his lead and jumped up quickly.
"Jerk on it and then reel the line. You can do it G. Bring it in." Nick said coaching him. Greg jerked quickly and then started reeling quickly. The line was coming to him fast and Greg was practically bouncing up and down when the fish finally came on shore.
"Look at that!!! Oh my God! I caught that fish. We need to like frame it." Greg was nearly squealing with excitement. Nick laughed and unhooked the fish. The small fish was just looking at them, clearly in shock.
"You don't frame a fish, Greggo. You take them to a taxidermy. You did good, G." Nick said smiling as he walked over to Greg.
"I'm gonna touch it. Don't let it wig out on me okay?" Greg said placing his finger along the side of the fish. Its slimy scales making Greg's heart pound in his chest.
"Its not going anywhere." Nick said holding it tight. Greg put out his hands and Nick placed the fish in it. Greg's eyes were shining like a child on Christmas making Nick smile again. Greg walked over to the water and placed the fish in the water.
"There you go little guy. Go get big and met a hot fish. Girl or guy...doesn't matter really. Then if you can, make lots of other little babies for me and Nick to come back too." Greg said releasing the fish.
"Are you having fun?" Nick asked sitting back down on the ground and patting the ground between his legs, where Greg had been a few moments earlier. Greg smiled and walked over to him and sat down, leaning against Nick.
"I don't think I have ever had more fun then I have today." Nick wrapped his arms around Greg and sighed into his neck.
"Your beautiful." Nick said in Greg's ear. Greg grabbed Nick wrist and took off in a full run straight into the pond. Nick didn't even have a time to gasp before the cold water hit his chest through is clothing. Greg was pulling him further into the pond water.
"GREG!!!" Nick sputtered as water entered his nose and mouth. "I'm going to kill you!"
"Not if you can't reach me." Greg teased and starting swimming away from him. Nick growled playfully and took off across the pond toward him. Greg had reached the other side by the time Nick was on his heels. Greg clawed his way out of the water and into the sand. He flipped over and laid on his back, trying to get his breath back from swimming and laughing. Nick was laughing and laid down next to Greg.
"Your going to be the death of me." Nick said putting his arm around Greg. Greg closed his eyes and sighed.
"Hopefully not. I want you to stay around a long long long long time." Nick rolled on his side and kissed Greg's lips pinning him against the shore.
"Same here." Nick said looking deep into Greg's eyes. Greg pulled Nick's face closer to him and captured his lips. Greg's fingers tightened in Nick's hair, speaking volumes about what he wanted to do. Nick got up putting his hand out for Greg to take.
"Let's head to the house. I have something to tell my family." Nick watched Greg's eyes widened.
"Are you serious?" Greg asked taking his hand and getting up.
"I have never been more certain then I am right now. I love you Greg and I want them to know it." Nick kissed Greg one more time and headed to the truck on the otherside.
"You know..." Greg said following Nick. " I think we should go fishing more often. If you are going to tell your parents about us then damn can you imagine the next time, You might even ask me to come to Canada with you to get married."
"Fishing can do wonders for the soul, G. I learned that a long time ago. I learned how to clean fish, take care of the land, bond with my dad and brother, and learned that I love a certain guy that is standing right in front of me. God I love you." Nick confessed and watched Greg smile. They loaded up in the truck and Nick turned on the radio with a smile on his face.
Lazy yellow moon comin’ up tonite,
Shinin’ thru the trees,
Crickets are singin’ and lightning bugs
Are floatin on the breeze
Baby get ready.....
Across the field where the creek turns back by the ole stump road
I’m gonna take you to a special place that nobody knows
Baby get ready.....ooooooooooo
You and me going fishing in the dark,
Lying on our backs and counting the stars
Where the cool grass grows.
Down by the river in the full moon light,
We’ll be fallin’ in love in the middle of the night
Just movin’ slow...
Stayin’ the whole night thru, feels so good to be with you...
Spring is almost over and the summer’s come
And the days are gettin’ long
Waited all winter for the time to be right, just to take you along
Baby get ready.....
And it don’t matter if we sit forever and the fish don’t bite
Jump in the river and cool ourselves from the heat of the night
Baby get ready.....ooooooooooo.
You and me going fishin in the dark!

Sorry you had to read all those mistakes. *is ashamed* Sometimes I wished I had been an English major just so I can write my fics properly.

Date: 2005-05-06 11:52 am (UTC)It's a good thing Greg isn't from the South, or he would never have got into that pond. o_O; My first thought was, "ACK. COTTONMOUTHS!" #^_^# Followed by, "Eurgh. GATORS."
...Yeah, you can tell I'm from Georgia. Maybe they don't have poisonous/dangerous critters in Texas ponds?? =D But damn. That was cute.

I think it was a 'safe' pond. lol! Well they got out of it quick anyway so no worries.
Thank you again.
