A/N: If I actually used the lyrics, this would actually be a songfic...but instead it just heavily alludes to that Nancy Sinatra song.
(It was like a shot from a gun - unexpected - something that had gone as quickly as it had come, leaving behind a silence still not enough to shatter the world.)
ETA: I really didn't see view it this way until I read it again, but I didn't intend for this to be a deathfic...angst maybe, but not death.
