Greg hated thunderstorms; absolutely hated them. At the moment he was huddled under his sheets and too big comforter, pillows piled around him as another barrier. He held his hands over his ears and shut his eyes tight when another roll of thunder rattled the windows and lightning lit up the bedroom. When it was over, he dropped his hands and pulled the blankets around him tighter. Not only was it storming, it was freezing. His heater was out and no amount of blankets could warm him up at the moment. He would go fix a cup of hot chocolate, but he didn't want to get out of the warmth of his blankets.

He curled up under the covers until he was emerged in complete darkness. He wanted someone to be there with him, someone to hold him and keep him warm and keep him safe from the storm. He wanted Nick to be there with. He has wanted Nick since the first day of work all those years ago. He sighed, and curled up tighter. A soft meow by his head reached his ears, only to be cut off by more thunder. He closed his eyes and pushed his fingers into his ears. Once it passed he pulled the blankets down and was greeted by his gray tabby cat, Chubby.

"Hey, Chubby. You scared, too, boy?" He reached out and pet the cat on his head. Chubby mewled softly and it turned into light purrs. Greg smiled and pulled the covers back some more and Chubby shashayed over to the spot and curled up next to Greg's chest.

Then, the phone rang. Greg jumped, then laughed at his stupidity. He reached out from under the covers and snatched up the cordless phone, pressing the 'Talk' button and putting it against his ear. Another roll of thunder made him wince. "Hello?" he squeaked.

A sweet laugh greeted his ears and he couldn't help but grin. "Hey, G. What's going on?"

"Oh nothing, Nick. I'm just sitting in bed, waiting out the storm. Not scared at all." Greg laughed nervously, barely containing a squeak as another clap of thunder hit the skies.

"Yeah. Is your power out? My power went out a couple of hours ago." Nick told him and Greg swelled with hope that maybe, just maybe he would come over.

"I have power. You wanna....um you wanna come over?" Greg asked, a blush starting to rise in his cheeks. Blushing? God he was so girly.

"Uh, yeah. Sure. I'll be there in a few minutes." Was it just him or did Nick sound nervous about coming over? Greg did a mental heel click and held back a girly squeal. He'd save that for later.

"Great." Yes! Greg jumped up and did a happy dance in the middle of the bed. Thunder clapped outside and he immediatley tumbled back down to the bed. Chubby growled before jumping down and stalking off to the hallway. Greg chewed on his bottom lip as he contemplated how he was going to get out. Nick would be there in a few minutes and Greg couldn't just leave him standing out in the rain. But the thunderstorm was really going now. The thunder and lightning was more frequent; louder and brighter, too. The rain was now pelting down from the skies fast and the pounding on the roof was sharp and loud.

"Dammit." he grumbled. He grabbed a pillow and the comforter, crawled carefully out of the bed, wrapped the thick comforter around him and clutched the pillow to his chest. He ran out of the room and down the hallway, the thunder booming again and making him get jittery. He sped up until he was in the living room, where he rolled over the back of the couch and hit the cushions, the pillow already stuffed over his head. He waited for the booming to subside before removing the pillow. But then frantic knocking echoed in the room and he cursed. He took a deep breath and rolled off the couch clutching his pillow. He ran to the door, opened it, then ran back, not waiting to turn around and greet Nick. At that time, more thunder made its appearance.

"Hey, G." Nick raised an eyebrow and Greg waved from under the comforter.

"Come. Come sit." Greg said and motioned with his hand. Nick shook his head, but went over and sat down. He sat on something lumpy and pointy, and then Greg yelped. "Sorry. Let me move my feet."

Nick chuckled and tugged on the blanket. Greg's spiked up hair was poking out from the top and Nick tugged a little harder. Greg's entire head appeared and he grinned. Nick smiled and shook his head. "G, what're you doing hiding under the covers?" Nick asked curiously.

"Thunderstorms scare me. You're lucky I came out here. I have a nice little pillow and blanket fort built on the bed." Greg nodded shortly, amusement shining in his eyes. Nick laughed and Greg felt butterflies flutter in his stomach. "How long has your power been out?"

"Two hours give or take. I told you that didn't I?"

"Oh. Yeah." Greg blushed and hid his face in the arm of the couch. "So, what'cha wanna do? The cable's down and so is the internet." Greg forced back the blush and sat up, holding the blanket around him tightly. He held onto his pillow, too, and faced Nick. Nick smiled, shrugging his shoulders.

"We could watch a movie or something." he suggested. Greg nodded with a big grin and actually removed himself from the couch. He hopped over to the flat screen television and opened the drawers he kept DVD's in. "What movie?"

"Whatever. It doesn't matter." Nick waved his hand. Greg shrugged. He bent down and as he was skimming through the DVD's he suddenly felt self-conscious. He randomly grabbed a movie and quickly stood upright, holding it out to show Nick: Happy Feet. Nick just laughed at the choice of movie. Greg poked his tongue out, then spun around to put the movie in the player. He turned the TV on to the right station and sat down with all his remotes, waiting for the menu screen to pop up.

"So! What have you been using your time off to do?" Greg asked happily.

"Nothing really. Just sleep and eat. And well, now hang out with you. But nothin' much." Nick smiled and Greg's insides turned into mush at the blinding sight. He smiled back before turning his attention the television screen. He fast forwarded to the main menu and hit play on the DVD remote. "So you actually own Happy Feet?"

Greg blushed and shrugged. "Yeah. My mom sent it to me for my birthday. It's a good movie though." He shrugged again and Nick laughed. Was it just him or was Nick scooting closer every few seconds? He couldn't help but notice it. They were sitting much closer now than they were ten minutes ago. He grinned without thinking and Nick raised an eyebrow.

"What're you so happy about?" If only you knew.

"Nothing. Just thinking about something." He couldn't keep the grin off his face when he noticed Nick blushing slightly, only a light tinge of pink, but he was still blushing. Greg was tempted, yet again, to let out a girly squeal but was forced to hold it back. Another clap of thunder, though, had him jumping and squealing, though it wasn't because of Nick.

He noticed Nick jump, too, but then noticed it wasn't because of the storm. It was because he, Gregory Sanders, hand landed in Nick's lap like a scared little boy wanting his mother. He blushed furiously when he turned his head and was met with Nick's amused expression, but hidden in his eyes was something Greg couldn't quite understand. He hurriedly tried to scramble off of Nick's lap, but Nick held him there, still staring. "Uh, sorry, sorry." he mumbled, blushing furiously now and trying to get off Nick's lap, but Nick still wasn't letting him go. "Nick, wh-"

He was cut off by Nick's lips on his. Soft, tentative, and Greg could swear he was floating. Greg tightened his arms around Nick's neck and moved so he was straddling the older CSI. Nick pulled back barely an inch and bit his bottom lip, staring at Greg. Greg was afraid to open his eyes; if he did he thought it would all be a dream and he hadn't just kissed the man of his dreams for six years now. Instead, he cracked open an eye and when he saw Nick staring at him he opened the other eye.

"So." he coughed and slid off Nick's lap. Nick only scooted over and smiled.

"So what?"

"Um, we just totally kissed and...and..." Without another thought Greg surged forward and pressed his lips against Nick's. Nick threaded a hand through the unruly locks of hair and pulled Greg closer, deepening the kiss.

Greg couldn't believer this was happening. He's had a "crush" on Nick for six years now and believed this would never happen. It felt like he was floating on Cloud Nine and he didn't want it to stop. But the need for air was becoming greater and he reluctantly pulled away, both of them breathing fast and ragged. "All these years of flirting with you and all along you were flirting back. Hm. Never woulda guessed." Nick laughed and Greg tipped his head back on the couch.

"Exactly how many years?" Nick asked.

Greg groaned and rolled his head to the side so he could see Nick's face. "Six long agonizing years." he sighed. Nick chuckled, a hand coming to rest beside Greg's head. He started playing with a blonde lock of hair and Greg closed his eyes.

"Really? Six years? That's a long time, G."

"Mm. Tell me about it."

Just then a bolt of lightning lit up the room and thunder followed. Greg jumped, eyes wide open now. He pulled a blanket over his head and covered his ears until it stopped. When it finally did, he peeked over the edge, thinking that Nick left after seeing how big of a baby he was being. But Nick was still sitting there, staring at him with amusement shining in his eyes. Greg smiled shyly and hid under the blanket again. Nick tugged at it and Greg found himself being kissed again. He could so get used to it.

"So, six years." Nick grinned and Greg groaned.

"Wait, you haven't told me how long it's been for you." Greg pointed a finger in Nick's face, a mock glare on his own.

Nick laughed, head laid back on the couch. "Uh, well, seven actually. It was your first day and the first thing I saw when I walked in was your ass actually. Then it was your face. Either way I was taken to you right away." Now Nick was the one blushing.

"Awe, really?!" Greg asked in a high squeaky voice, batting his eyelashes at the same time. He leaned over and pecked Nick's cheek just for the heck of it. Nick blushed even harder.

"I thought we were watching Happy Feet?" he asked, trying to change the subject just a little bit.

"You distracted me." Greg winked and this time he initiated a kiss, this time a little more forceful and deep. But a clap of thunder made Greg break away and bury his face where neck and shoulder meet. Nick wrapped his arms around him and pulled him close. "Sorry." Greg mumbled.

"Don't be sorry. I kinda don't like them either. I just don't show it." Nick shrugged. Greg buried his face deeper against Nick's skin and breathed in deep, then let it out slowly.

For the next hour or so the two of them talked and kissed some more and talked and kissed. Happy Feet ended unoticed and Greg pouted when he noticed. He started it back up and again they didn't watch it. After a while the storm died down, a few bolts of lightning lighting the sky every so often.

"The storm's pretty much over." Nick pointed out and nudged Greg in the shoulder. Greg looked out the window and saw the sky a little lighter without the dark rain clouds. "I guess I need to head back home."

Nick stood up and stretched, his t-shirt riding up. Greg watched, eyes fixed on the tan patch of skin revealed. He snapped out of it when Nick put his arms down and started to head for the door, grabbing his umbrella along the way. Greg shot off the couch and beat Nick to the door, blocking it. "G, what're you doing?"

"Don't go. Please?" Greg asked and tried his best at puppy dog eyes. Nick sighed and shook his head, but set his umbrella down by the door. His hands traveled to Greg's waist and he drew the younger man close.

"Fine. I'll stay."

Greg grinned and planted a kiss on Nick, catching him by surprise. Nick laughed against Greg's lips and started walking backwards, pulling Greg along with him. "Good. Because I think I could find something for us to do."
