Title: Greggylocks and the Three CSIs

AU, For the March Fairytale Challenge. Slightly inspired by rabidfan. Un-beta'd and written on the spot. Short, and sweet, like a gnome dipped in candy.

Once upon a time, there was a lab. In this lab there were three Criminalists, or CSIs. The three CSIs cared about each other very much. There was the Supervisor, Gil who loved his bugs more than people. There was his right hand woman, Catherine and there was their loyal CSI, Nicky. But this story isn't just about Gil, Catherine and Nicky. This story is about an adorable little lab rat named Greggylocks.

Our story starts when Greggylocks is running late for his shift. Greggylocks was in a hurry, but when he got to the lab, he found the front door locked. Now, Greggylocks knew enough about crime scenes to figure out a way into the building. Once inside, Greggylocks was surprised to find the entire building empty. This is ridiculous. thought Greggylocks. He checked the break room. No one was there, but there was a sandwich left out on the table. Well, no one will notice if I just have one bite. It was delicious. He ate the whole thing.

Snacks aside, Greggylocks knew someone else had to be here. He looked in Gil's office only to find it unlocked. Greggylocks couldn't believe it, Gil never left his office unlocked. He had to go in. There were bugs everywhere! Greggylocks picked up a container of cockroaches and looked at them closely. Dead as door-nails. But the maggots on his desk were alive. Greggylocks hated maggots and left Gil's office as quickly as he could.

Greggylocks was getting tired. Nobody was here and he had to face the facts. Greggylocks wandered into the lockerroom and laid down on the bench. He was tired and was soon asleep. A quick nap couldn't hurt.

"Hey, G. Wake up!" shouted a thick Texan accent, inches away from Greggylocks' face.

"What? Huh? I'm up! I'm up!" Greggylocks bolted up to see Gil, Catherine and Nicky
standing near the door to the lockerroom smiling.

"Greg, did you move my cockroaches?" said Gil, trying to hide a smile.

"Greg, why did you eat my sandwich?" said Catherine, holding the sandwich's empty wrapper.

"G, why are you even here, the lab's closed." said Nicky, smiling.

"I, uh, well. I just had some work to finish up and I thought I'd get a head start on your stabbing vic and I thought if I..." Greggylocks was reaching for an explanation. He had, essentially just broken in to a government building. As Greggylocks was busy looking for an answer, Gil and Catherine snuck out so only Nicky and Greggylocks were left. When Greggylocks looked up, he saw Nicky with a huge grin on his face.

"You've been a very bad boy Greggo. Your punishments waiting at home." said Nicky, slapping Greggylock's butt on the way out.
