AN: This is my first full-length Nick/Greg story. I hope you like it. Tell me if you think it’s good or not. I’d love to hear what you think so that I can improve on my skills.

Greg walked into the locker room and punched his locker. He had screwed up blood evidence and almost gotten a case thrown out of court. He heard the door slam shut and he hit his head against his locker shutting his eyes, waiting for Grissom’s anger at his ignorant mistake.

“What’s wrong G?” The soft Texan accent was the last thing he expected to hear. He turned to see Nick standing a foot away, his back against the door.

“I fucked up the case.”

“What? You think you’re the only person in history to make a mistake?”

“No. I’m not, but most people’s mistakes don’t cause a murderer to be set free. If you guys hadn’t been there to back it up with the other evidence, a murderer would be back on the streets on my conscience.” Greg started pacing the locker room.
“Why do you think we have more than one piece of evidence? Hell Griss even makes mistakes. If he wouldn’t have caught that fingerprint on that matchbox a murderer would have gone free. That’s a huge mistake. Cath tested her DNA against DNA on a case to test her paternity. Huge mistake. Warrick got blood evidence thrown out because he had stopped to help someone at an accident sight.”

“That doesn’t count. You know as well as I do that that ruling was shit.”

“Greg, what do you want? Want me to tell you to quit?” Nick screamed. Greg stopped pacing and looked up at Nick.
“My old supervisor called the other day. He told me that if I came back to San Francisco he’d double what I was making back in the day. When I was a DNA analyst, I didn’t mess up.”

“So you’re just going to give up?” Nick asked shocked.

“What else am I suppose to do? You don’t know me anymore. I lost myself.” Nick looked at Greg walk towards him. Nick opened the door and let Greg walk past him. He stepped out in the hall.

“You know what Greg? You’re right. The Greg I know doesn’t give up on anything.” Greg stopped, but didn’t turn around. “The Greg I know doesn’t quit because of a mistake he made. The Greg I know would just laugh it off and move on.” Nick walked forward and around Greg to stand directly in front of him. Greg looked into Nick’s eyes. “G…” Nick paused and a tear silently fell down his cheek. He knew the entire lab was listening to their conversation. “That’s the Greg I love. And if this Greg is the Greg that’s here to stay. Go to San Francisco.” Nick turned around and walked off leaving Greg standing in the middle of the hall.

Greg walked into the condo he shared with Nick and saw that Nick’s keys weren’t sitting on the table. He hadn’t paid enough attention in the parking lot to see if Nick’s truck was parked outside. He threw his keys on the table by the door and hit the message button on the phone.

“You have one new message. ‘Hey Greg! It’s Warrick. Nick told me not to, but I thought you might want to know that he’s over here. Just so you know he’s safe. I hope you two work this out. You did a great job today at the trial. I’m proud that you didn’t crack when they wanted you to. See you at work tonight.’ End of message.” Greg pushed erase and walked into the kitchen. He leaned his forehead against the cool fridge door. He sobbed and felt the hot tears pour down his cheeks. He turned and slid down the fridge onto the floor. He sobbed into his hands. After ten minutes, there were no tears left to cry just silent sobs into the thick air of the kitchen. The phone rang and Greg stood up and slowly walked across the kitchen to pick up the phone.

“Hello,” he said softly into the receiver.

“Hey Greggie! It’s Wendy. I heard about your fight with Nick at the lab today. I was wondering if I could bring over some takeout.”

“I don’t think now’s a good time.”

“Too bad, I’m standing outside your door. Open up.” Greg hung the phone up and walked around the corner to the front door. He slid the chain lock out of its holder and pulled the door open enough for Wendy to walk past him and into the house. She walked around the corner and sat the food on the kitchen counter. Greg sighed and closed the door, sliding the lock back into place. He walked back into the kitchen to see Wendy pulling forks out of the drawer next to the stove. She picked up one of the takeout containers and handed Greg a fork. Greg picked up the other one and followed Wendy into the living room, where there were two comfortable armchairs looking out of the bay windows that showcased the strip. Wendy sat down in one of the chairs and Greg took the other.

“So why’d you come over?” Greg asked opening his container. Wendy took a bite and chewed, swallowing before looking up at Greg and smiling. Greg took a bite and chewed while Wendy started talking.
“I want to know why you two are fighting.”

“Well, I messed up blood evidence on the case we went to court for today. And I told Nick that I wanted to go back to San Francisco because I was giving up. And he told me that the Greg he loved didn’t give up and if this was the Greg that was here to stay, to go to San Francisco.”

“Greg, are you a complete dunce?”

“No. Maybe. Okay, yes. Complete. I’m an asshole. I can’t leave him and I thought he knew that. I love him more than I’ve ever loved anyone. And I’m a bastard for yelling at him.” Wendy smiled. “I made a huge mistake, didn’t I?”

“Yeah, but Greg. The good thing about making mistakes is that you learn from them. You have at least five cases a week. If you did everything perfectly on every case, you’d burnout. Not even Grissom can do that. Don’t get down over one case going wrong.” Wendy sat down her food and stared intently at Greg. “And as for Nick, he’s testing you. He wants to see if you think that this relationship is worth anything. You said that you were thinking about going back to San Francisco. You remember what happened last time Nick let himself get close to somebody. She died. The second he thought that there was a chance of his heart getting broken, he closed up. He wants you to come after him. He wants nothing more than for you to decide that you were a prick and you messed up. Go get him. Tell him you’re sorry. That you love him. He’ll take you back.” Greg smiled.

“Thanks Wendy.”

“No problem.” She picked her Chinese back up and continued eating it. Greg sat his down and stood up. “Where are you going?”

“To get Nick. You can let yourself out right.”

“Yeah, go get him kid.” Greg smiled again and bent over kissing Wendy on the top of her head. He walked over to the door and picked up his keys. Wendy smiled as the door shut. She took another bite of her food and looked out the windows at the beautiful view.

Warrick pulled the door open to see Greg standing there.

“Hey, G. Come in.” Greg walked past Warrick and into the entranceway of the older man’s house.

“Who is it?” Nick asked walking into the living room. He stopped when he saw Greg standing there. Greg smiled slightly. Nick just stared at him. Greg sighed and dropped down onto his knees.

“I want you to know that I’m a dickhead. And no matter what I say nothing is going to change that. I’ve spent the past hour trying to find a way to convince you that I’m not wrong. But I am. I shouldn’t have thrown San Francisco in your face. I know how much it must have hurt to think that you were going to lose another person you loved. And I’m not entirely sure why I did it. Maybe a part of me wanted you to feel as bad as I felt. But I shouldn’t have hurt you like that. I’m so sorry.” Greg reached down in his pocket and pulled out something that he held in his closed fist. “While I was thinking, I realized that the only thing I was doing by pushing you away was pushing away the only person that I’ve ever cared about. And I know that you probably hate me and never want to see me again. But I have to ask because if I don’t I’ll spend the rest of my life wondering; what if? What if I left for San Francisco and never asked you for the one thing that I’ve wanted since you asked me out a year ago?”

“What’s that?” Nick said hoarsely, the tears evident in his eyes mirrored in his scratchy voice.

“Forever.” Greg unclenched his fist and held up the Platinum engagement ring. Nick let the tears go and stepped forward into Greg’s arms. Greg wrapped his arms around Nick’s waist and leaned his head up against Nick’s stomach, closing his eyes and letting the fabric absorb the tears. Nick laced his fingers through Greg’s short locks. Nick closed his eyes against the burning and let the tears fall freely down his cheeks. Nick opened his eyes up again and looked down at Greg at the same time Greg looked up at him. Nick pulled Greg up onto his feet and locked his fingers with Greg’s at their sides. Greg remembered the ring in his hand and pulled back to slip the ring on Nick’s left hand. Nick pulled him close and kissed him softly. Greg pulled back and smiled at Nick. “Come home with me.” Nick nodded his head. Nick slipped his shoes on and told Warrick and Tina good-bye.

Greg couldn’t drive home fast enough and ten minutes later pulled his Jetta in the spot next to Nick’s Explorer. He followed Nick as they quickly walked up the stairs to their fourth story condo. Nick unlocked the door and pulled Greg inside only to slam him up against it as he closed it. Nick pressed his mouth insistently against Greg’s. Greg reached behind him and locked the door and started walking Nick backwards towards their bedroom never breaking the kiss.

When they reached the bedroom, Greg split for a second to pull his shirt off over his head. He ripped at the buttons on Nick’s shirt popping two off in the process. Nick’s shirt hit the floor to join Greg’s as Nick and Greg played war with their tongues. Both men kicked off their shoes and Nick unbuttoned Greg’s jeans and pulled down the zipper. Nick slid his hand under the waistband of Greg’s boxers and softly stroked Greg’s hardening cock. Greg moaned against Nick mouth. Nick pulled his hand out and pushed Greg’s jeans and boxers down in one motion.

Greg started pawing at Nick’s pants in a desperate attempt to feel Nick’s hot flesh against his own. They fell to his ankles with his boxers and Nick kicked them aside. Greg pushed Nick onto the bed and climbed up on top of him. Greg got halfway up the bed and looked up at Nick with a predatory look. He leaned down and sucked the head of Nick’s cock into his mouth. Nick arched his back as Greg swirled his tongue around the head. He flattened his tongue against the underside and relaxed his throat, swallowing as much of Nick as he could. Nick slid his fingers through Greg’s hair as Greg’s mouth moved up and down. Nick gripped harder on Greg’s head as Greg’s moan vibrated against him. Greg pulled up and released Nick’s cock with a small pop.

Greg crawled further up and licked Nick’s belly button. Nick moaned pulling Greg’s locks. Greg licked a trail up Nick’s stomach to his nipples. Greg sucked on one causing Nick to pull Greg’s hair just a little too hard. Greg nipped Nick and he yelped.

“Careful,” Nick said looking down at Greg.

“You too,” Greg said chuckling.

“Oh sorry.” Nick blushed slightly looking so sweet and innocent. Greg leaned up and captured Nick’s lips in a hungry kiss. Nick moaned into Greg’s mouth as their cocks moved against each other. Greg pulled back and Nick whined with a pout on his face. Greg leaned over and pulled the bedside table drawer open. “Naughty drawer?”

“My favorite part of the bedroom search.” Nick chuckled. Greg rummaged through the drawer and pulled out a bottle of lube. He leaned back over to Nick and gave him a peck on the cheek. He crawled back down and opened the cap on the lube. He squeezed a little bit on his fingers and rubbed them together. He smiled up at Nick and grinned back. Greg leaned down and sucked on the head of Nick’s cock, pushing Nick’s legs apart and caressing the ring of muscles.

Nick moaned and stroked Greg’s head softly. Greg pushed a finger past Nick’s tight ring of muscles and slipped inside him. Nick groaned and arched his back when Greg wriggled his finger and hit that spot that made him see stars. Greg started pushing his finger in and out in rhythm with his sucking. Adding one finger, then two, when he got to four Nick moaned and whimpered for Greg. Greg released Nick’s cock and squeezed some lube on his fingers. He slicked his cock up and positioned himself at Nick’s entrance.

Greg pushed Nick’s leg up and lifted his left leg up and Nick stuck it on Greg’s shoulder. Grabbing Nick’s right hand and interlocking his fingers with Nick’s, he pushed forward into Nick until he was completely in. He stayed still until Nick was comfortable and then pulled back out. He thrusted forward and closed his eyes groaning. It had been a long time since he’d topped. “Nicky, you’re so tight.”

“Faster, G.” Greg obliged picking up his speed. “Harder, baby.” Greg thrusted harder against Nick. Greg reached around Nick’s leg and stroked his partner. Nick moaned and arched his back. Greg groaned as Nick tightened around his cock and spilt his seed all over his stomach, screaming Greg’s name out into the quiet room. Greg grunted and came a second later, spilling himself into Nick. Greg let go of Nick’s leg and fell on top of Nick, slipping out of him. They laid there sticky, sweaty, and breathless for what seemed like hours.

Finally, Greg slipped off of Nick and off the bed. He leaned down and grabbed his tee-shirt. He climbed back up on the bed and wiped Nick’s stomach off, then his. He threw the shirt back on the floor and laid his head on Nick’s shoulder.
“I love you baby,” Greg said softly looking up into Nick’s chocolate brown eyes.

“I love you too angel,” Nick said placing a soft kiss on Greg’s forehead. Greg leaned down and pulled their comforter over them. They laid in silence until Greg was sure Nick’s rhythmic breathing meant he was asleep. “Greg?” Greg looked up and saw Nick’s eyes lined with tears.

“What baby?”

“Would you really leave for San Francisco?” Greg smiled and kissed Nick softly on the lips.

“I could never leave you.” Greg laid his head back down and closed his eyes. “Never.”
