Hey, [livejournal.com profile] nickngreg fans help me here?

This question doesn't have anything to do with Nick and Greg actually. Sorta, not really.

Okay, I was on the "NickandGreg.com" website, and I was reading this fic called Zebra, when they had Greg singing and dancing to a song with these lyrics:

I am going crazy 1-2-3-4-5-6 switch. Crazy going slowly am I 6-5-4-3-2-1-switch!

What IS that song? Seems funny and I wanna hear it!

It's a kids song. That's the whole song right there. I think it's from Sharon, Lois and Bram, but I'm not 100% on that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was on The Elephant Show at some point.
Dammit, now I've got Skinnamarink stuck in my head. >.

Well, iirc, it's called "I Am Slowly Going Crazy". And what you've read is the grand sum total of the lyrics. From what I recall from primary school, it's sort of chanted.

I honestly don't know where you can hear it. I suppose you can see if you can download it. Really it was just something that I had passed along to me as a kid.

The idea on the song is that you sing it faster and faster each time until you're tripping over your own words and have no idea what you're singing. A friend of mine and I used to do it in college--great way to release tension :)

Gah! You had to mention *that* song. Which, because of some strange glitch in my brain, meant that I had to start singing it. Loudly.

It made the dog run in circles around the room, howling.

Alas, I live in a mad house.

Oh, and just for the record. The best way to sing this song, is while sitting in a spinny chair, with your head thrown back, spinning around as fast as you possibly can.

...

Just don't let the men in the white suits see you.

Could'a been worse. Someone might've mentioned The Song That Never Ends. You know, the one that just goes on and on, my friends? I hear some people started singing it, not knowing what it was, and they never finished singing it because...

Oh... Blast! Now it's in my head!

I once made someone lock themselves in a closet because they couldn't stand to hear me sing that song anymore...
