Jan. 28th, 2006 11:13 pmFrom The CSI Companion Book. (because I don't know how many of you actually have/read/looked at this book, but it's actually a really awesome book and I know a lot of people love the scene they're talking about. XD)
To explain a little about the book, it goes episode by episode and gives a brief summary, with some screenshots (yes, there's a screenshot of Greg in the headdress for the episode summary of Table Stakes. *giggles*) and after each episode summary is a little thing, almost like a behind-the-scenes look, at the episode. (there's also character bios set up like actual files and some case files; this book is really well done for the series. <3) Below is an example, taken from the behind-the-scenes page of the episode Table Stakes (yes, it's about the can-canning XD):
From the very first shot of the buzzing fundraiser to the backstage world of the showgirls to Catherine's visit to the Liberace Museum, the sleuthing is cleverly accented with lively visuals and cheeky comment. The levity reaches its crescendo when Catherine and Grissom happen upon Greg can-canning in the hallways wearing Portia Richmond's gargantuan headdress. "That was a total surprise to me," Eric Szmanda says of the wacky interlude. Although he recieved ample help from his colleagues in the cast and crew on the finer points of burlesque dancing, the scene was twisted enough to make the normally unflappable actor a little self-concious. "It'd hard enough to do something like that in front of thirty people on a set," he says, "but afterward one of the stand-ins came up to me and said, 'Do you realize thirty million people are going to see what you just did?' And that's when it hit me. But I tried not to think about that 'cause it would've just freaked me out."
I apologize to those that have already read this, or if this has already been put up, but it struck me as the most amusing thing.
