New Traditions
Dec. 16th, 2005 04:08 pmBecause I have a few minutes and the little bunny bastards won't leave me alone, here is a little ditty from my tired mind. I know most of my f/list isn't into CSI, but I wanted to share anyway.

Being together for quite a while, Greg and Nick had plenty of traditions when it came to the holidays that usually didn't change. Even last year after their daughter was born, they still spent Christmas with Nick's family in Texas, then flew to California to ring in the New Year with Greg's extended family. This year, however, after Nicky's night in the box, Greg wanted to change the tradition...start a new one for their own little family. Nick usually took care of it, but Greg said he would take care of the travel arrangements; yet, Nick had yet to see any plans made.
"Come on Greg...we need to book the tickets to Austin soon so we can get an exit aisle for the baby seat."
"Already taken care of...here." Greg handed a packet of folded computer paper to his better half sitting in the recliner, who then opened it to inspect the contents.
"What the...? Greg!?" He looked at the handsome man beside him, who proceeded to sit in his lap and drape his arms around Nick's neck. "This isn't three tickets to Austin."
"I wanted something for just you, me and Sophie...just some time to be a family." It was 3 first class tickets to Honolulu and a week at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. "We've both been working so hard I thought we deserved a treat."
"But how did you pay for this?" Greg raised his eyebrows and finally saw the lightbulb go on over his lover's head. "Oh Greg...this was your money to buy the new car...and those things for the baby...and..." Greg quieted his husband's words with a soft kiss.
"I can get a new car next year...and Sophie's birthday is in a few weeks. She's going to be loaded with clothes and toys from grandparents as well as all of her aunts and uncles. I almost lost you Baby...I want some time with just the three of us; I mean our girl is going to be grown before we know it...I think we should have this time together." Nick smiled and kissed the soft lips of the love of his life, cupping the still young looking face he adored.
"You're right. Hey...let's go tell Sophie she's going to see Santa riding on a canoe."
