[identity profile] natroga.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] nickngreg
Hi! I'm new in this community (but not the fandom) and I wrote a little Nick/Greg ficlet a few days ago. So I thought I post it here. :)

"Honey" (Yes girls, I eventually came up with a admittedly stupid title)
Pairing: Nick/Greg
Rating: R (for some swearing)
Summary: Greg has a problem

A/N: Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cinderlily, [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane, [livejournal.com profile] geekwriter143 and [livejournal.com profile] eledhwenlin for convincing me that this is, in fact, not an utter piece of crap.

Every time Nick Stokes opened his mouth, Greg knew he was in trouble.

In very deep trouble.

He wasn't troubled by nurturing an astonishingly huge crush on the other man, hell, he had for *years*, it was just that when Nick talked, Greg had to fight the urge to just grab him and push his tongue into Nick's mouth, because he *really* wanted to know if his mouth tasted as much like honey as his voice led him to believe it did.

Ergo, trouble.

Because he really shouldn't be thinking stuff like that about a co-worker, one who was a friend of sorts, one who was, as far as Greg could tell, really incredibly straight.

And he shouldn't be thinking about that when he was supposed to listen to Grissom, because becoming a CSI was much more important to him than an embarrassing schoolboy crush (at least that was what he told himself), and dammit, he worked hard for all that self-control, so why oh why did Nick have to come in late that evening, voice still rumbly and deep from sleeping, and now Greg was thinking about honeyed *gravel* and that really shouldn't turn him on as much as it did.

Christ, that was prime wanking material for months.

"Sanders?"

Nick. Figures.

Part of him actually wanted to shriek at Nick to Shut. Up. because how was a guy supposed to concentrate when all that honey-graveled southern goodness rendered any sort of cognitive process nearly impossible?!?

"Sanders, man, get your head out of the clouds and come on. We have a 419 in Henderson."

Damn. Damn damn damn damn damn damn damn DAMN.

"Listen, are you alright? You've been weird all evening. Well, even more weird than usual."

And then Nick had the audacity to chuckle.

Life just wasn't *fair*.

"No, I'm perfectly, impossibly, incredibly alright. Nothing troubling me at all."

And when Nick turned around and walked out of the building, Greg almost believed it himself.

Oh that was brilliant. I'm actually hoping you continue this, because I could see this becoming one of those long, drawn out, angsty as hell series. I never really gave much thought to Nick's voice, but you're right, it does sort of reminisce of honey. Such a very cool way of putting it.

So much love for this story. It's just so very pretty and very guy and very true and I adored it.

So. Adorable. Great job! I especially liked the line "honey-graveled southern goodness." And along with everyone else, I do want more. This has so much potential for lovely, angst-filled goodness.
