Nick's POV-
I hadn't planned to do what I did at the end of that night…something that seemed crazy at the time, but would be the best thing I've ever done. The whole thing started out as just a rare night off for the both of us, spending the evening at home having Chinese delivery and watching some boring television. Finally we were both so bored we headed to our big bed to make our own entertainment. I love having sex with Greg, it's always great and that night was no different.
"Oh my God! Nicky! Fuck yeah!" Getting fucked by Greg has to be one of the best things in the whole world; especially when it's a nice hard pounding with my arms and legs wrapped around him. As much as I enjoy being on the top when we make love, there's something in the way he does it that when he's inside me; I can never get enough. It's like I want him to stay there forever; and that night that feeling was even stronger than usual.
"Yes G! Just a little more Baby! Please!?" A strong hand came between us, taking my hard throbbing cock in his grip and started to stroke me in time with his thrusts. A couple more minutes and he was sucking in air rapidly, and moaning my name with his tongue in the shell of my ear while he shot his hot load deep into my insides.
"My Nicky…I love you…come for me Baby…" Whenever he said that to me, it wasn't long before I was holding onto his back and coating the space between us with my warm cum. While we lay there trying to come back to Earth, Greg was nuzzling his face into my neck, licking my ear again. We were both speaking more words of love to each other and along with them out of my mouth came something insane.
"I love you so much G. I never ever want to be without you…" Greg's head came up from my chest and with one of those sweet smiles; then he kissed me and got up to get a towel from the bathroom to clean us up. When he was done, he put the towel in the hamper, came back to bed. As he snuggled back up to me, I was holding him while rubbing his back and hair…and then it happened. "Greg?"
"Yes, Nicky?"
"Marry me." Sitting up a little from his position, with his famous 'What the fuck?' look.
It was something I had thought about a bit during the months before but never really took seriously since it wouldn't be legal in this state anyway. That night however, I realized that I wanted to marry my boyfriend and spend the rest of our lives together. I wanted to have a big party to celebrate our love and relationship with our family and friends the same way any other couple in love does. What was the weirdest thing about me wanting to do the whole 'marry Greg' thing was that of the two of us, I had been the one that had been so much more in the closet about our relationship.
"Excuse me? I thought I just heard you ask me to marry you." Still presumably under that post-orgasmic haze, I just went with it and nodded my head. Pushing a pillow behind him, Greg sat all the way up and pulled me to him; so I rested my head on his chest and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Well, what made you say this all of a sudden? I mean, we aren't even out to more than a handful of people, and besides…it wouldn't be legal." Rubbing his bare pecs, I let out an almost defeated sigh.
"You're right…never mind. It was a dumb idea." I felt his lips on my forehead and his hand in my hair.
"But Nicky…I never said no." Looking up into those big chocolate eyes rimmed with thick sooty lashes, I saw the love shining in them, and it took my breath away.
"Really G? You will? I know it won't be valid, but I just want everyone to know how much I love you and want to be with you forever." A tear trickled down my face then Greg licked it from my cheek before kissing me and holding me so tight I almost couldn't breathe.
"Yes, Nicky…I will." Once we broke our embrace, I kissed him so hard it pushed him back into the pillows. Scooting down so his head was on it, Greg pulled me back to him and began to massage my ass while licking at the sides of my mouth. When I opened it, his tongue shot inside and I was pretty sure it was our 'sealing the engagement' portion of the evening.
Greg's POV-
It's been four months since Nick asked me to marry him; and between our work and the planning, it's been so busy. I never thought the day of our wedding would come, but here it is….and I'm petrified. I'm not sure why; I know that even without this ceremony, I would be spending my life with Nick. I can never see being without him ever again; but I guess that this just solidifies those feelings and makes them truly real by saying them in front of each other and our friends. The night we told those friends about our ceremony, it was a regular night at the lab and both Nick and I had returned from our cases earlier than everyone else, so we decided to hang out in the break room of the lab waiting for something to do.
"Are you sure you want to do this here Nick? Shouldn't we do it at home or something? The walls could have ears." Laughing, he sat next to me on the couch and patted my knee.
"G…don't worry. Okay? I wouldn't do this if I were really concerned. I think it will be okay." After I gave him a smile and rubbed his shoulder, I heard the voice of one of our friends.
"Hey you two…not in the break room. You never know who might come in here." Looking over at the door, Warrick sauntered in and grabbed a soda from the fridge before turning a chair around and sitting on it to face us. "How are my favorite couple this evening?" Warrick was the first person we told when we got together; well, Nick told Warrick. It sort of slipped out one night when they were over at Nick's place and after a few drinks, they were talking about sex and my name fell out of my lover's mouth. What was funny was that Warrick was a hundred times more upset that we kept him in the dark about us rather than two guys being together.
"Um Rick…we have something we want to tell you." Just as the words came out of Nick's mouth, Catherine and Sara came through the door with our take out dinner order.
"Hey guys, dinner's here. Greg, they didn't have any bananas for your shake, so I got strawberry; is that okay? Greg?" Sara was holding the cup in her hand and when the girls saw us sitting there staring back, she started to laugh a little. "What? Did we interrupt something?" Stuffing a few French fries into her mouth, Cath pulled out a chair and sat in it.
"Yeah…what's going on you guys? When you three get together, nothing good can come of it." Sara came over to sit on the other side of Nick, the food forgotten; and looked at the three of us. Just as Nick was going to say something, Grissom walked in to the room. We all looked over at him.
"Good….dinner's here." When we all stayed in our seats, Grissom stopped rooting around in the food bags and glanced over at the group of us. "Okay…would you like me to leave so you can finish this conversation." I was squirming in my seat, and couldn't stand anymore interruptions, so I stood up and blurted out our news and our secret that no one else but Warrick had known about.
"Nicky and I are in love and getting married." Nick sat back against the couch with his hands over his face while some fries fell out of Cath's hand, Grissom sat down across from her, and Sara's eyes got enormous. When I looked at Warrick, he just had this 'oh no' look on his face, and I sat back down next to Nick, feeling like I was going to barf.
"Well, this is not exactly the topic I thought you were talking about, but it is definitely an interesting one." Then Cath got up and handed Sara a $20 bill, smirked at me and sat back down at the table.
"What in the hell?" Nick saw Sara folding the money and shoving it in her jeans pocket.
"We had a little wager. I bet, as a total joke, that you two were sleeping together, and Catherine said no way. I guess my instincts were correct, so I won. Oh, and I would have made double if you had told us." She pointed to Nick and his jaw dropped open; then closed again before he started speaking.
"So you guys are okay with this? With us being together…being gay and a couple?" Grissom stood up and came to sit by me on the arm of the couch.
"Greg…I think we're fine with it. We've been fine with Bobby and his partner for some time; what would be different with you two?" Nick cleared his throat before answering our supervisor.
"Because Peter doesn't work here; Peter isn't a CSI and work in this lab, both of us do. And if we go through with this, Greg and I want to continue to work together on the same shift…and even work on cases together. The last thing I want is for our relationship to split us up at work now that the shifts are back together." A knowing smile came over Grissom's face, and it was the one that always made me feel a little better for some reason.
"Nick…you two have been together for some time, I would imagine; and you've never let it affect your work before. Why would it now that we know?" I looked from Grissom to our friends then to Nick whose body had relaxed and had a small smile on his face. I shrugged and began to chuckle a little bit, and then Gris' strong arm came around my shoulders, patting me. The tension broke with laughter from my boyfriend, then Warrick, and soon everyone hugged us, giving us a few words of approval and encouragement before we headed back to the table for our now almost cold dinner. After we finished eating, Nick and I went on different cases, but after we got off work, it was off to Nick's house to sleep so we could begin planning the next morning.
Nicks's POV-
The four weeks after we came out to our colleagues, it was obvious to us that nothing really had changed; and the thought of really having a commitment ceremony grew in both Greg's and my mind. With every wedding magazine and show we went to, I wasn't sure I wanted to have a traditional wedding type ceremony. I was all for just aloha print shirts and shorts on our deck then having a barbecue in the new pit that the guys helped us build in the back yard, but I think Greg really wanted to do it up right. Being an only child, he had never been a part of a family wedding, as well as he'd always wanted one when he was still dating girls.
Along with the normal ceremony, we decided to have a sit-down dinner reception and Warrick even talked me into having a boys' night out. What was so weird was for this bachelor party was that there were two grooms; and even though we went to a strip club, both grooms were in no danger of waking up with a dancer the next morning. You wouldn't think that either of us would want to go to a tittie bar since both of us are sleeping with another guy. However I have it on good authority that even though we both might be in love with a man, a hot beautiful woman still turns us on; and a bunch of naked ones is even better. Warrick got a few numbers, and Greg and I went home together, but I didn’t get to have the hot monkey sex that I was all torqued up to have, though. My fiance and I had made an agreement not to have sex until our honeymoon, so by this last week before the wedding, I had to move to the other bedroom. I wanted him so badly I couldn't sleep; and the bachelor party the other night was about to kill me.
Everything is ready, including my vows. Greg wanted both the traditional ones, as well each of us to say something to each other that we made up; and it only took me a short time to write down what I was going to tell him. It was what I had been feeling for him almost since the day we met; about what he means to me and what his being in my life has brought to mine. And today, I can tell him these things in front of our families, both blood and chosen…well most of them. Greg's tried to stay strong, but I know it's killing him that his parents aren't here and won't be. He called them a couple of months ago to tell them he was getting married, a personal thing before the actual invitation showed up, and it didn't go well at all. I didn't know that they had no clue about me until then; and when he told them he was involved with another man, I guess the shit hit the fan. I'm the first man Greg's ever been with, and it sounded like his folks didn't take that news too well. Once it seemed like they'd started to calm down, his mom asked if he had called just to tell them that. When he said no, then told them about the wedding, he listened to both of them yelling for a minute or two then simply hung up the phone, went to our room and cried himself to sleep. I just thank God everyday that my parents have been as supportive as they have. I came out to them as bisexual when I was in college, and while very hesitant at first to accept it, they have pretty much come around; and since he and I have been friends so long, they know and have come to adore Greg which makes me so happy.
Last night I spent my last as a 'single man' at Warrick's; we had beer and pizza with Xbox, and then a goodnight phone call from my fiance about 10. He spent the night at Archie's doing pretty much the same thing 'Rick and I did; and I think our friends did that for us so we showed up here to the chapel on time and sober. As I chuckle to myself, I hear the door to the groom's dressing room, and before he even says anything, I know it's my best man.
"Dag, Nicky…you almost ready yet? If you don't hurry up they're gonna cancel your wedding." Checking myself in the mirror, I think I am, but want one more look. My best friend comes to take a look at me, dressed exactly like I am, but his tie is blue instead of white. He straightens the Windsor knot and nods that I will do. "Come on Romeo…your beloved awaits." Walking behind Warrick, I follow him into the small chapel that we rented for the service. Greg should be finished getting dressed in the bride's room on the other side of the room with Jacqui or Archie helping him. We laughed that he was sent over there, but I almost wish we had had that room, it's twice the size.
Looking around, there are flowers and candles and those bows on the tops of the pews that caused several fights and it seems that I finally lost. I like that we got what we wanted…something small for friends and family only as our relationship is not really public to many other people at the lab since we work together. Standing there on either side of the altar steps, I see Grissom, Archie and Bobby dressed just like my best buddy along with Catherine, Sara and Lindsey. I turn to see my mom and dad sitting with most of my sisters, my brother and all of their families; and all of our friends from at work and our life outside of work. Then, when I turn back, I see Jacqui then the most beautiful thing in the world standing next to me at the altar. A mirror image of myself…dark suit, white shirt and silk tie; but the only difference is instead of short dark hair, there's spiky highlights above those beautiful brown eyes.
"Hi Baby." I smile at my Greg and before I start to cry, I take his hand and we walk up the stairs to start our new life together forever.
"You look so handsome Nicky. That white looks so good with your tan skin." I can feel myself blush and I'm not sure why. He tells me all the time how he thinks I'm handsome or sexy or beautiful…I don't see it, but I sure think that of him; more beautiful than any woman I've ever been with. Part of that might be that he loves me like no one else has ever done before either. I've had a few relationships with partners of both sexes where there was sex or love or friendship, but nothing like with Greg. He's my colleague, best friend, lover and soulmate all rolled into one; I never thought I'd be lucky to find all of them in one person, but he fills the bill completely.
"So do you G." We're now standing in front of the minister, who starts his little talk or whatever on marriage; but none of the words compute in my brain. All I can hear is Greg's breathing and my own heart about to pound its way out of my chest. Luckily I am able to focus just as we begin to go through the standard vows including 'do you take this man Gregory Sanders?' Of course I say I do, as does he; and then after we exchange matching gold bands, it's time for our own vows. I nod to him to go first, since I need a minute to compose myself before I can speak without crying.
"Nick…five years ago, when I came to Las Vegas, I was a kid fresh out of college at my first job here; and you always treated me as an equal. I never saw my life turning in the direction it did, both professional and personal, but you've been there behind me the whole way on both. I love you Nicky, more than I ever thought I could…and I want to keep showing you that the rest of my life." Oh shit…water works are going to start. I take a big sniff, then someone touching my arm. Turning, I see Warrick handing me two Kleenex. I take them both, and give one to my boy, whose eyes are shimmering as well. Once I have my voice under control, I start my words of love for him.
"G…When I met you, I was really excited. I had a new little brother that Warrick and I could hang out with and torture." A little chuckle from the folks behind us gives me the courage to go on, as well as my Greg's hand squeezing mine. "As the years have gone by, that has changed and only for the better; because that love that I had for my friend has grown into one for the wonderful man that I want to be my partner in life until the day I die. I love you so much." Now, we're both weeping but smiling and the minister tells us we can light our unity candle now. It was a gift from Brass and his girlfriend, and when Greg and I turn to get our individual candle from our friends who are standing up with us, there are my mom and dad instead. It takes my breath away; this is such a surprise, but a very good one to say the least. My mom kisses Greg as she hands him the taper in her hand; and my dad gives me a peck on the cheek when I take the one from him.
"Thanks Cisco."
"We love you both Pancho." I let out the breath I had been holding and smile before turning to take my Greggo's hand and move up to light the big candle on the table in front of the small altar. As we touch our tapers together to symbolize our coming together, I look up at Greg; and with the flames shining in his eyes, I am falling in love with him all over again. Even though I thought this ceremony idea was sort of stupid at first, I think I'd do choose to do it again every time.
Warrick's POV-
I had a feeling about how serious Nick and Greg were for the last year or so, but didn't really know just how much until that night that Greg stood up and announced to the team that they were getting married. Of course I thought he was joking since two dudes getting hitched is not exactly valid in the state of Nevada, but when I saw the look of love that Nicky had for his boy being brave like that, I knew how really real it is for them. At that moment, it was just a natural thing for me to look over at Catherine, watching her coo over the guys' happiness. I don't think she knows just how much I have felt for her over the years. At first, it was almost like a big sister sort of relationship; but as the years have gone by, I'm pretty sure I've fallen in love with her. And I adore Lindsey… she's become almost like my own; and I would even love to be a father to a child that's mine as well.
So, we fellas are all dressed up in tuxes, watching Greg and Nick say their vows, and now they're lighting a candle. They look so handsome and so in love; and God… the girls look beautiful. Sara, Cath and Jacqui in dresses made of a flouncy material, a blue and green print on them; and my little girl, well, not so little anymore, as the flower girl/junior bridesmaid in a similar dress, but more demure and light blue. I catch Catherine's eye and wink at her, which makes her smile and look down at her bouquet; then Sara sees her and looks at me, giving me her "behave" glare which morphs into her sweet smile.
The whole ceremony has only lasted about 20 minutes, with a few songs; now the boys are giving each other a hug and a quick kiss like any other married couple does. I've see them kiss each other before, but it was when they thought no one was watching, like in the locker room at work or at their house. Once the happy couple starts to walk back out of the chapel from the altar, the rest of us follow down the aisle behind them. I have Jacqui on my arm, followed by Gris and Catherine, Bobby and Sara, and Archie with Lindsay. It's funny; it seems like they had almost as many folks standing up for them as they have invited guests.
Luckily, they have a bunch of friends together, or poor Greg's side would have been almost empty. I guess his parents were surprised when they found out about the two of them, not only being a couple, but getting married; and they didn't handle it well at all. This was something Nick's folks had never planned on for either, but they've always liked Greg and even though they were apprehensive at first about this idea, they have been fairly supportive. The rest of Nick's family was pretty good about it too; only one sister and a few aunts and uncles refused to come, but this was the sister that he is closest to, or was in the past so it has been tough for him not to have her here.
After we're done at the chapel it's off to the Mirage and the reception room where we're going to have dinner. It took both Nick and Greg so long to decide what they wanted to have, either a buffet or sitdown, then what to serve, that they almost didn't make the cutoff. It was so close that In and Out burgers were looking like what was going to be served. Luckily Catherine has a friend who works at the Mirage, so they were able to cater the food no problem, especially for such a small crowd. The tables look so nice, all with table lamps and some flowers along with theme decorations that look like some plastic kid's party favors like badges and makeup brushes posing as print powder brushes. Over in the corner of the room is a small dance floor where a DJ is setting up and in the other is the wedding cake with two grooms on top, one with dark hair and one with lighter.
"Warrick? Come'ere bud." Nick is waving me over to where they're going to take pictures with both grooms. Greg wanted to have the others taken with all the wedding party but not them together, some sort of superstition thing. I can see that…with all the crap those two have been through to get to this day, I could understand why they wanted to have that little bit of luck to hold onto. Jacqui and I stand on either side of the groom we were standing up for; and looking over at my friend from the print lab, she looks out the corner of her eye at the happy couple. I follow her gaze and the guys are so giddy I wonder if we'll get these done before dinner starts.
"All right you two…you're going to have a whole week together to be giggly and stupid on your own time. Let's get this done; I need a drink." I love Jacqui…I think that's why she and Greg have always been so close. She keeps his ass grounded and is his conscience when his is not quite working properly; and poor Nicky is too much in love with him to say no.
"Sorry, Jacks. Greg and I will behave." The four of us get a picture taken, then either Jacqui or me alone with Nick and Greg; and after I'm all done, I go look for Catherine. She's sitting at a table with her beautiful girl, both of them having some hors d'oeuvres and something to drink. After I have gotten a beer, I head over to join them.
"Well, here are my girls. You both looked so beautiful up there in your lovely dresses." Catherine looks at me as I sit down at their table; and I swear it's one that is one that she's looked at her previous boyfriends with, and it makes my breath stop just a little. I don't know if she has ever felt about me the way I feel about her, but I think tonight might be a good time to approach it. We'll both have had some drinks, there's already love in the air…maybe I can dance with her and at least hold her.
"Warrick?" Lindsey is looking like an angel; her blond hair all curled and baby's breath on the sides of her head.
"Yeah, baby girl?" She stands up to lean against me, her head on my shoulder, and gives me this little look that usually works to talk me into just about anything.
"Will you dance with me after dinner? I'm one of the only kids here my age, most of them are younger and the only one that was in the wedding." I set her on my lap, my arm around her back, and hug her.
"Of course I'll dance with you. You are one of the prettiest girls here, so I bet all the guys including Nick and Greg will want to dance with you." Over her head, I see her mom with a few tears in the corners of her eyes; and she's about to say something when the MC takes the mike and announces that dinner will be served in 10 minutes. At our table is the rest of the wedding party, except the grooms. They're going to be sitting over with Nick's family; and really, that is where they should be. As people start to file over to their assigned tables, I come around to see if I can get my potential new girlfriend another drink while I go get myself another beer. When I go to grab her glass, she takes my hand in hers, rubbing her thumb over it.
"Maybe when you are finished dancing with Linds…you can dance with her mom?" That look that Catherine had on her face before is back and how can I refuse anything to the woman I love?
"Of course…I was sort of hoping I could." A smile and a squeeze of my fingers is her response and as I make my way back to the bar, I think I can feel her eyes on me the whole way over. When I turn and wait for the bartender to pour her wine, I see I'm right. I think this evening is going to be one that is full of love for not only the two we are celebrating, but might be the beginning of things for other folks too.
Greg's POV-
It's been a month since my Nick became my husband in every way but in the eyes of the law, and we've never been happier. The night we were married, we spent it in a suite at the Mirage, which was upstairs from our reception; and most of our friends and family stayed there too so they just had to stagger upstairs rather than drive home after enjoying the open bar.
"Hey….Hodges finally came through with our videos." Nick sits next to me on the couch, handing me a beer and putting the plate of nachos on the coffee table. "He and Archie got them all edited and looking good, and he gave it to me this morning. They can get us more copies, we just need to let them know how many."
"Cool…I want to see from everyone else's point of view." Mostly I want to see what all our friends and family got to see because all I saw was Nick and that was the best view of all. Turning on the DVD player and snuggles into me with his left hand on my knee next to my hand. Four weeks and I still get a little light headed when a flash of our wedding bands comes across my line of sight. Seeing those two yellow gold stripes sandwiching the thicker white gold one of his along with mine makes it real to me that we are going to be together for life.
"Oh…the chapel looked so nice." There were a few flower arrangements and the bows on the top of the pews, but that was about all for decorations. Even though it was technically a gay wedding, we wanted it to represent Nick and me, and we're not exactly feminine.
"I know. I guess those bows were a good idea, G; they added a little something, especially since we didn’t go crazy with the flowers."
"See, I told you they would." I can't help but smirking at him, which he hates, so he leans over to kiss that sarcastic grin away. Laughing, he rubs my leg with his hand as we watch our friends walk into the chapel, Bobby and Archie are seating people, and after his parents are seated the two of us come in with Jacqui and Warrick. "Aw…you look so good Nicky; but you look like you're gonna throw up though." He did look a little green around the gills.
"I was so nervous; I wanted everything to be right that day, and luckily it all was." As the service begins, I watch us say our vows, slip our rings on, then light the candle while one of his cousins sings a song. When she's done, the pastor says a few more words, and then we hug and give each other a kiss. Nick was sort of freaked out about us kissing in front of everyone, but I said at the rehearsal that we had come this far, why should it be such a big deal for a kiss. After he thought about it, he said that I was right…in some countries, men kiss each other in greeting all the time and nothing is thought of it. It's not like we were going to make out for five minutes with tongues.
"Everything was beautiful, baby." The scene ends, and the screen goes black; but then it starts up again at the hotel in the small ballroom that we rented for the reception. I was so happy that Catherine knows so many people in this town; because we would never been able to have the kind of party we did if she didn't. Both Nick and I went back and forth on what we wanted to eat, how we wanted to decorate and all the other details that we fiddle-farted around until it was almost too late. We also had the good fortune that the party that was reserved in that room had been cancelled the day before; I told him that it was fate smiling on us and we had to get married now. "Oh…there's your parents and us…'Rick and Jacks…" Honestly, Hodges is pretty good at this camera stuff; I guess hanging out with Archie has helped him with learning about the equipment and angles and stuff. He's not such a bad guy once you get through the bullshit exterior that he fronts. The last year or two, we've made a deal with him that if he behaves himself and keeps the caustic shit to himself, he could hang out with us.
"Hodges did a great job of getting so many angles and people… I'm glad we asked him to do this." After a few times with the guys, we realized that he's become our friend; so when Archie offered to videotape our service, we needed an assistant for him since we had already asked him to be in the wedding party. We were going to ask Hodges to be a groomsman, but he was so gung ho on being the video guy, we never did.
"No kidding…okay here we are. Must be after dinner…awww…Nick. There's we are with the cake; I still should have smashed that cake in your face, then I could lick it off." Snickering, I look at Nick, and he starts to laugh as well while he shakes his head and kisses me again. When we're done cutting the cake and feeding each other, Nick's cousins or nieces or whoever begin to cut the rest of the cake while we head to the dance floor and begin our first dance. Our song is 'I Knew I Love You' by Savage Garden, which was playing the night we went on our first official date; and as cheesy as it was, it was the Muzak in the elevator of the hotel where we spent our first night together. So, we kind of figured it was our song; and besides, the words are us anyway. Other than Jacqui, Nick has been my best friend almost since the day we met; and what was weird on that first day in the lab was that I hoped I could find a friend in my new city.
"I knew I loved you before I met you…I think I dreamed you into life…" Nick starts to sing along with the song while we watch him lead me. I lead sometimes when we dance at a club or at home, but that day, I wanted him to hold me. I guess today is not different, I've crawled up to him and wrapped my arms around his torso, my head against his shoulder as he sings. "I think I found my way home. I know that it might sound more than a little crazy but I believe..."
I tilt my head up to give him a kiss, and after the song is over, there are people talking to the camera, so we part to listen to the good wishes. First are Nick's mom and dad, then a couple of his sisters and their husbands; and I have been thinking of sending a copy of this disk to my parents. They might never watch it, but at least I'll have the satisfaction of it being in their hands and if they do see it, they'll get to see what they missed…the best day of my life. After my new family, comes our friends…Jacqui and her boyfriend, Judy and Mary from Trace, and Bobby with his partner Peter.
"I'm glad we have another couple to go do things with; go to dinner, hang out, entertain." That laugh comes out of my husband again. Man, I love saying that; my husband. On the screen there's a small hallway next to the ballroom, which is a coat check closet; but with such a small party, we hung our own stuff up in there. A few minutes later, we see that this room had an additional use that night. 'Get the hell out of here Hodges!' I think I recognize the woman's voice, and then I see something I never thought I would ever see. "Oh…my…God!" Catherine comes out of the closet with her shoes in her hand, her hair all messy in the back, and Warrick right behind her with his shirt half buttoned. "I knew it! Nick, did you know about this?" Shaking his head, he pauses the DVD.
"Warrick told me he was gonna try and talk to her…well, I guess they did a little more than talk." Turning the disc back on, there are a few more of our friends and a group of his family members that I really don't know speaking to the camera; then Warrick and Catherine all put back together…well, for the most part "They fucked…you can tell."
"Is that bad, baby? I think they're good together."
"Me too, G…and that's why I'm glad they finally did it. He's been more of a father to Lindsey than Eddie ever was; and she would deny it forever, but she's loved him too almost as long as he's loved her."
"Like you and me?" That soft sweet smile comes over my baby's face before cupping my cheek and touching his lips lightly to mine again.
"Just like you and me, G. I just hope they can have their happy ending too." Just as I'm about to say something equally as loving and completely corny to Nick, there's Grissom; tie and jacket off, a water pitcher in his hand which he then proceeds to drink from the side of. "Oh dear…Gris was tight wasn't he?"
"I think so. He had already had several drinks before dinner, and this is almost the end of the party." Nick and I wanted to stay to the end of the reception to spend time with our friends and his family, especially after Nick's ordeal last year. He wasn't sure if he would ever see them again, and now he wanted to be with them as much as he could. That, as well as the late end of our reception, was one of the reasons we stayed that night at the hotel. It was convenient too since Nick's oldest sister and her husband, who is a filthy rich cattle man, were going to host a brunch the next morning as their gift to us. That way we could relax more with the family and be fresh to travel to our honeymoon, which at the time was a secret to me.
"Oh, yeah…he's past loaded." While Grissom is drinking from the pitcher and babbling on to the camera, you can hear someone snickering; which was probably Hodges, then Sara comes over to try and wrestle the almost empty container from him. A little of the water spilled down her chest, and then our supervisor proceeded to start licking the water from Sara's breastbone and clavicle.
"Go Gil go!" Both of us here, along with the camera dude and whoever was left in the ballroom, are cracking up at this. We both know how they have felt about each other, very much like Warrick and Catherine, and maybe this was the beginning of something for them too. Sara pushed Grissom off of her boobs, then pulled him with her to say good night to us and disappeared. After a few more minutes of us sitting at a table saying goodbye to guests, Archie and Hodges move in front of the camera in one of the hotel rooms and they're smiling.
"Thanks you guys, for including us in your special day; and letting us capture it on camera. It was amazing for us too, since we both count you as two of our closest friends. Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon, and we wish you nothing but the best when you return and for the rest of your lives. We love you guys…Aloha!" Hawaii was where Nick and I spent a glorious week together; swimming, surfing and screwing along with the rest of the regular touristy stuff people do in Honolulu.
"We had a good wedding, didn't we Nicky?" Turning off the television and the DVD player, my gorgeous husband gets up from the couch and offers his hands to me. Taking them, I'm helped off of my seat and lead towards our bedroom. As we get to the door of our inner sanctum, he takes me in his arms and plants another of his intoxicating kisses on me.
"It was a great wedding, and I'm glad we did it. Now, let's go reenact that night I proposed."

I think I've found my best friend

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
There's just no rhyme or reason

Nick's POV-
I hadn't planned to do what I did at the end of that night…something that seemed crazy at the time, but would be the best thing I've ever done.
I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden
Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes
I see my future in an instant
and there it goes
I think I've found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than
a little crazy but I believe
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
There's just no rhyme or reason
only this sense of completion
and in your eyes
I see the missing pieces
I'm searching for
I think I found my way home
I know that it might sound more than
a little crazy but I believe
[repeat chorus]
A thousand angels dance around you
I am complete now that I found you
[repeat chorus to fade]
Loved it!

Date: 2005-09-17 12:55 pm (UTC)There is good stories, those you read and enjoy, and there is great stories, those you don't want to end (Because you want to keep reading) and at the same time you can't wait to review! This is one of those!
So my request now is - write more like this, and make me happy by lettig me read them!
Now, some constructive, and positive comments:
One of the main reasons this story stand out is the different POV's! You mannage to show the story from different sides, and in such a great way! You don't overdo it, and yet you light the events from more angles. I love it!
You know - if I could actually put as may words into my stories as in my reviews, I would actually get something written!
See you around! I wait for the next story!

Date: 2005-09-18 03:10 am (UTC)I like to do different POV's in stories, and I'm gladthat this worked so well.
I'll be out of town for a week, but I'm going to have my story pad with me on the plane, so hopefully I'll have something new soon. Thank you again for the feedback.
