Summary: Greg has an interesting sense of style.
A/N: Um, yeah, I blame my typewriter for this entirely. She has a mind of her own. Grammatical errors are all me, though.
Nick stared at Greg in confusion. Greg just smiled. Confused Nick was his favorite kind of Nick. This probably had something to do with the fact that it was the emotion he inspired most in Nick. Besides lust, that is.
“Greg, what are you wearing?” Nick asked, staring at Greg as though he had just sprouted a second head.
“What do you mean? I’m wearing a t-shirt and jeans. I am at this current moment barefoot, but I just might go crazy and put on those tennis shoes over there.”
Nick sighed in exasperation. “Be serious, Greg!”
Greg laughed softly, enjoying Nick’s reaction far more than he ever would have anticipated. He cocked his head to the side, taking in Nick’s adorable pout. Greg composed himself and stopped smirking when Nick glared at him. He still had trouble not laughing as he said, “I am being serious, Nick.”
“Sure you are,” Nick said rolling his eyes, his tone dripping in sarcasm. “Is that why you’re wearing a ‘World’s Best Grandpa’ shirt? Because you’re being serious?”
“What? You don’t like my shirt?” Greg asked mockingly. “I know, I know. ‘Be serious, Greg!’” he laughed when Nick gave him a look that made it perfectly clear just how amused he was by Greg’s antics.
“All right, I’m probably going to regret this, but why are you wearing a ‘World’s Best Grandpa’ shirt?”
“Because I’m secretly an eighty-five year old man with seventeen grandkids. The youngest one in curls!” Greg said, singing the last part.
Nick shook his head and said, “I don’t know why I bother.”
“Yes you do. You bother because you love me. And if you really must know why I own this shirt, I’ll tell you. I bought it.”
Nick looked at him as though he now had three heads. He started to say something, but had nothing. For once Greg had managed to thoroughly perplex Nick.
“For Papa Olaf,” Greg stated as though the answer should have been obvious.
“If you bought it for Papa Olaf, then why in the hell are you wearing it?” Nick asked, once again completely exasperated by Greg.
“I forgot to take it with me the last time I went to visit. And then I was sitting on my couch eating Chinese food and I spilled red sauce all over my favorite shirt. I took it off and washed out the stain, but then I was shirtless. This one was sitting on my coffee table, so I just put it on. And somehow, I guess it worked its way into my wardrobe. Tell the truth, don’t you find it even just a little sexy?”
Nick laughed slightly, asking, “The shirt or the guy wearing it?”
“Both, I guess,” Greg said grinning.
“Although I can’t say that this particular piece of clothing does anything for me, I’d think you were sexy in liederhosen.”
“Liederhosen, eh? Well it just so happens…” Greg trailed off, turning away from Nick and heading down the hallway toward his bedroom.
“Greg! No, I didn’t mean… you don’t really have liederhosen, do you?” Nick called after Greg as he followed him quickly down the hallway. When he reached Greg’s bedroom, Greg was lounging on his bed with a satisfied smirk.
“What?” Nick asked, once again confused by Greg’s humor.
“Oh, Nicky, you can be so dense sometimes,” Greg said laughing. “When I was making a list of what I was and was not wearing, I forgot to mention something rather important.”
“And what is that?” Nick asked with a smile.
Greg crooked his finger, beckoning Nick closer. When Nick was leaning over him on the bed, practically straddling him, Greg whispered, “I’m not wearing any underwear.”
