Hope this is ok to post here, but a friend of mine is doing a little project and she's looking for 2 of the best fan fictions from 25 fandoms. It has to be short enough to read in less than a day, about 10 chapters or so, and while porny is ok, she want's an excellent story! I have some ideas, but I'm looking for suggestions. She's doing a project about fanfiction and how it can be so amazing. Let me know if you have any ideas!

Woah, good question! My absolute favorite Nick/Greg fic is really long (19 chapters), but needs to be mentioned: One Good Man (http://www.nickandgreg.net/desert_archive/viewstory.php?sid=165) by Geekwriter. It's casefile, character study and porn rolled into one. CSI Nick and Labrat Greg go to a crime convention together and Nick discovers Greg is more than a geek.;)

While I'm a big fan of the NC17 erotica scenes and AUs, what makes a good fic awesome is when the author takes only a bit of a turn from the original canon and gets inside the characters' heads to explore their motivations and relationship;). That's the subtext I see in the TVshow and that's what I want to read more about.

A ficseries that also illustrates that -and that probably fits better with your friend's project because it's shorter;)- is the Pancake verse (http://archiveofourown.org/series/10457) by carolinecrane. These are 13 ficlets written as follow ups/companion pieces to CSI:Season 8. They focus on how Nick deals with the aftermath of everything that happens. Nick and Greg are moving in together after having been in a long term relationship \o/

Or, or, or... here's another fandomclassic that meets all the requirements -one story, 35.723 words: Sweet Cool Water (http://archiveofourown.org/works/122735) also by carolinecrane: A hard night on the job and an unexpected encounter with a familiar face force Nick to re-examine some things about himself.

I would have to echo One Good Man as probably my favorite Nick & Greg fic, but also one of my my fav stories in any fandom.
