Yes! Finally it's time to reveal the new banner. A big thanks to all the artists that joined in with one or more designs. Each one of you was voted for and the favorite was chosen with only one vote difference (23.5%), so it was very close and you are all awesome!

The banner that is going to accompany the Season 14 discussion posts was made by [livejournal.com profile] sillie82; congratulations!

Time to discuss the first episode!
As usual the title will be behind a cut and we ask you to only talk about the episode that was shown. No spoilers of future events in the comments, please.

This is the place to talk about whatever is on your mind about Nick and Greg's adventures in S14Ep1, whether it's text or subtext *grins*

S14Ep1: The Devil and D.B. Russell

Now let's get together and swoon about scenes between Nick and Greg or feel free to rant about the lack thereof. Did the episode make you jump for joy or do you want to stomp your feet in frustration? Get it off your chest here!

Congratulations! I used the same scene in one of my designs; I really like what you did with it:)

I haven’t seen the new ep, so I can’t comment there, but I want to congratulate sillie82 on her win and praise all the other artists for their beautiful work.

I looked at the submissions so many times, and if I had to make the choice myself, I really don’t know if I could have done so. The closest I could come was to narrow it down to three (which was amazingly difficult to do). Even then, I don’t know if I could have chosen one above the others.

This was the best art contest yet. Congratulations to all who entered!

I enjoy it whenever Nick and Greg are working on a case together, and it was so intense this time! I was very worried when Greg ran off and Nick had to catch up only to find Greg frozen with fear. I held my breath, obviously for the reveal of the victim, but mostly for our guys;)

Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] sillie82 on the wonderful banner! (and to all the banners submitted!!)

My favorite moment was certainly the first scene... The boys arriving at the crime location in the same vehicle, having come from the same house and warm bed, with Nick a little scruffy and unshaven, not having time to shave after staying up all night with Greg - and/or all morning *wink* Nick quickly becoming concerned, with his protective nature over Greg kicking in, when he lost sight of him in the storage unit. (of course, I filled in a couple of missing blanks *grins*)

When this opening scene appeared, I had so much hope that this episode was going to have a lot of 'one on one' interaction between the boys. My fluttering heart soon slowed, and my huge smile quickly faded, when I realized the interaction was not as much as I had hoped for. With that said, I still really enjoyed the episode!

They looked scrumptious for sure! Nick was not the only one who was concerned about Greg, I hate it when they get separated at dark, creepy crimescenes. *shivers*
I realized pretty quickly the episode was going to focus on various daddy-issues and thus wouldn't involve a lot of time with our guys, but at least they got to work together, that warmed my fangirl-heart, despite the angst;)

I'm gonna have to get used to the new opening credits; they moved very fast and I couldn't even registrate the new Nick and Greg snippets. Luckily we got to spend some time at the scene with both of them. It's always a pleasure to see them working together! I wonder if Nick told Greg off afterwards, for running into that storage unit before the police cleared the building. That boy nearly gave me a heart attack! (Sorry, can't stop seeing Greg as a boy; he's still not aging, HOW?!) I'm still not used to scruffy Nick, but I'm not complaining;)

I'm definitely ready for the rest of the season. (Especially now that all those horrid daddy-issues are more or less solved :-p Any old fangirls out there who remember whether we've seen this incarnation of Ellie before? She didn't look familiar to me)

Ellie from this episode looked very different to me than the previous Ellies. But according to IMDB, Teal Redmann has played the part of Ellie Brass from 2005 through 2013. I guess she just grew up.

Oooh, good research, thank you! Maybe I got her confused with Catherine's daughter *grins* - it's hard to keep track of the extended CSI family;)

I was surprised to find this wasn’t a new Ellie. She looks markedly different from previous episodes

As far as the episode goes, it had the same excitement of early CSI eps that kept me constantly at the edge of my seat.

That being said – I miss the old days when Nick was our “damsel in distress.” Nobody got kidnapped, assaulted, blown-up, shoved through a window, or brought to tears at the point of a gun like Nick Stokes. I miss the wide-eyed Nick who was always ready to play the victim (and ultimately ready to be nursed back to health and sanity by the young and handsome Greg Sanders).

These new Nick and Greg scenes weren’t long, but they were intense and definitely welcome. I’m sure that, when they got home, Nick blasted Greg for charging into that dark and (potentially) dangerous building.

Greg, as always, looks great. I’m not rockin’ Nick’s scruffiness, but he does look amazing. He seems younger looking and more fit than last year.

Yup – it’s good to have N&G back!
