Also, thanks the nickngregmod(s) for keeping this site fresh and alive during the hiatus.

Date: 2012-09-27 11:49 am (UTC)And I loved that last scene where Greg talks about family and having each others backs and asking Nick if he's in or out. Was it just me or was there an underlying meaning there in the words? Nick did abandon him in the last episode, after all :D

Date: 2012-09-30 09:24 pm (UTC)Oh there definitely were a lot of things implied with the family-speech;)

Date: 2012-09-27 01:49 pm (UTC)As for the episode, it made me EXXXXTTTTRAAA happy because I broke my poor clavicle and there's nothing better than a cute Greg/Sara/Nick scene for comfort!
Loved John Wellner in the opening credits!
Honestly, I'm just glad Hodges and Morgan kissed, so that she leaves Greg alone! Though really, if Greg is supposed to be interested in her, why'd he just STAND there when she obviously needed comfort? Silly Greg! He's still a baby at heart! <3
I loved how the episode followed the typical characterization during a crisis: Nick going crazy, Greg being all passive and giving Nick sidelong glances, Sara being the voice of reason, Greg and Sara having life-affirming best friend conversations, Nick and Sara fighting and Greg patching them up <3 <3
At first, I was disappointed that Greg wasn't the one looking for Nick--but I actually loved the way they did it on the show! I can totally imagine Greg's emotional brain totally shutting down while he just did what he had to do, and then bringing it up in the end like that? Gaahh, that's subtext right there: Are you in or are you out? It just about killed me <3 <3
"You quit"
"I didn't say it out loud!"
That made me laugh. They were fighting like children... and Greg was just like pfftt.
But honestly, I'm just sooo sooo relieved that everyone was in character, though Nick was kinda an idiot (as usual when he's upset).
Every season Greg seems to get smarter and more grown up, and yet that little thread of vulnerability and childlike oh-my-lord-i-don't-know-what-to-do behaviour remains <3 <3 <3

Date: 2012-09-30 09:42 pm (UTC)I kind of love Greg's what the fuck-face, because he obviously has heard Nick's tantrums before (I'm sure we all remember the ones he had in S6Ep21 Rashomana and also the threat to quit in S7Ep13 Redrum;) - Greg knows it's best to let Nick brood and work things out on his own, as became evident in this new episode \o/ "Pfffft", indeed *grins* That was an excellent response to Nick's behaviour.
To be honest I don't want any kissing on my crime-series, but you do have a good point;)
I think this was a very good season premiere, even if Nick didn't answer the question at the end. I'm looking forward to the next episode (Why do we have to wait an extra week, grrrrr)

Date: 2012-09-27 11:28 pm (UTC)I officially don't like Finn, and like Morgan, total reverse from what I felt at the beginning of Season 12.
seeing Nick drunk and angry made me want to scream, "Go back to Greg! He's waiting for you!"
I felt really bad for D.B, how angry he was scared the crap out of me, his daydreams made me double think if they were real or not.
Greg's last lines to Nick, oh I almost started laughing, it was so perfect! He said it, and all I could think was, "I LOVE the writers! Don't they know the fuel they've given us slashers?!" :D
I don't want to wait two weeks for the next episode though! O_O

Date: 2012-09-30 09:49 pm (UTC)Oh, I still like the whole team better than previously combinations, I think they make a nice set of personalities now. I am rather more annoyed by the daddy/daughter issues between Morgan and Eckly, as well as the unbelievable relationship between Morgan and Hodges *shivers* Don't want no soap-opera moments on my crime-series!
That last scene between Nick and Greg (and Sara) was absolutely awesome and felt like the old days when Sara and Nick would bicker like brother and sister. Poor Greg being in the middle, but he handled it perfectly:) Those guys.

Date: 2012-09-29 08:10 am (UTC)I loved Nick’s encounter with Officer Hank. It gave us a good look at what Nick must have been like during his frat days. (Poor Greg must have his hands full when Nick puts on his cranky pants.)
Greg wasn’t the center of this plot, but he shined nonetheless. Gone are the days when he was treated like the newbie and errand boy. Greg was take-charge, professional and impressive (and freakin’ hot too).
Greg and Sara were great together, and the family meeting between Nick, Greg and Sara was kick-ass fabulous. I loved it!
I thought Brass was great as well. I let out a cheer when he went badass in the holding room.
And did anyone notice that Nick, a right handed shooter, held his gun in his left hand when they were in the car? Nick always wears his holster on the right as he did through the rest of this ep. I assume they had him use the left hand to make the scene look better through the camera, but it irked me.

Date: 2012-09-30 10:03 pm (UTC)OOoh, I like your comment about Nick's frat days; he did once admit to causing a bit of mayhem back in the day, didn't he.
Greg was so awesome on that crimescene: not letting Nick's childish behaviour distract him and being strong when Sara needed to be told what to do. *pets him*
Brass was pretty damn cool. I especially appreciated him setting DB straight.
Huh, didn't notice the left handed gun holding *checks* You're right! I have a theory though: he probably hurt his right hand in that drunken fight when he got arrested. Being trained as a cop, fortunately he can shoot with his left hand when needed.
