I don’t know how you will take it that I’m leaving. It may come as a surprise, I don’t know. I say that because I’ve managed to stick around through all the shit you’ve handed me over the years, and always come back for more. Not this time!

God knows I’ve put up with a lot from you…from the affairs, the drugs, the drinking, and everything else in between. I’ve come to the realization that you think I look better with tears in my eyes and a frown on my face that I ever did with a smile.

Greg, I really did love you, or at least I tried to. You’ve made it difficult to do so. I don’t know what I’ll do yet, or where I’ll go. I’ve tendered my resignation to the lab, and will play it by ear from there. I hope you manage to find what you seem to be searching for. I know now that I’m not it. There is one thing I would really like to know, I just won’t get to hear it from you. What I want to know is this: don’t you ever get tired of hurting me?
