It was originally written on 26th-Nov-2009, but these past few weeks that post has been the target of spambots for some reason. Since notifications are driving us slightly crazy, we're closing the comments on that original post. You are most welcome to continue squeeing here or simply reminisce in silence. S8Ep2: A La Cart
Sorry we're a little late, but this classic episode had no less than SIX scenes worth of screencapping and we wanted to share all of them. The guys gossip in the dessert, they share childhood memories, Greg is making Nick run, they have fun in the lab and after they solve the case they go carting! (Oh and they do some actual work as well;)
Since there will be no distraction from the new season for a while, we figured y'all have time to focus on the subtext;) So together with screencaps we only offer what was said out loud: can you tell us what the guys were thinking in between?
SCENE 1
(Nick and Greg are in the dessert with Grissom)
Greg: "He say anything about what's happening with Sara?"
Nick: " No."
Ehm, Greg, you're supposed to photograph the evidence, sweetheart
Nick: "Hey, did Sara ever say anything to you about her and Grissom?"
Greg: "Not in so many words."
Nick: "So you knew about the two of them?"
Greg: (shrugs) "Yeah."

SCENE 2
(Nick and Greg are at the go-cart tracks)
Greg: Have you seen this guy before?
[...]
Christin Gillis: Yeah. But I'm not getting him in trouble, am I?
Nick: No. No, not really. (He checks out the carts on the track...)
Nick: You know, when I was a kid, we used to make these things out of lunch trays and old lawn mower engines.
Greg: When I was a kid, I used to make bombs...
...little bombs.

(Christin hands the printout to Greg.)
Greg: Oh. "Vinnie Vroom." Won all three of his races. Beat out a guy named "Hot Rod."
Christin Gillis: Hey, there he is, right there.
(They turn around to see Hot Rod get out of his cart.)
Greg is pretty (Greg focuses on the suspect)
Nick is distracted by the pretty. (Yay Tongue!)
Ready?
Set...
Go!
Go Nick Go!
Nick: Get out of the truck now!
(Greg arrives with the officers, who handcuff Hot Rod.)
Greg: You got quite a mess here, Rod. Mind if I take a look?
(Greg holds up the belt and tests it for blood.)
Greg: Blood. Looks like things just got a lot hotter for you, Rod.
(ba-da-bing ;o)

SCENE 3
(Nick and Greg examine the go-carts.)
Greg: Got a worn area on this front bumper. Some brown trace. Same goes for the rear of that one.
Nick: Well, if it turns out to be leather, it would confirm Hot Rod's story that he towed the second cart back using Vinnie's belt.
Greg: Got what looks like ... blood on this wheel well.

(Greg and Nick report back to Grissom.)
We combined some looks; check out the body language!

The guys wear the same colour helmet!
(Warrick wears yellow, Catherine blue, Grissom grey,
but the boys both have a red one;)
See? Greg has a red helmet
And Nick has a red helmet too \o/

FYI Due to personal life still being overwhelming, the classic post-hiatus will continue for a little while longer, we hope that won't stop you all from sharing Nick/Greg love! Thanks to everyone who keeps sharing fic and comments *hugs to all*
