S6Ep05 Gum Drops
Last weekend we posted the final three nominated scenes from S6 in our Search For The Favorite Nick/Greg Moment Of All Time, this is one of the finalists! A memorable episode of its own right, because we get to see the team have a picnic lunch outside of the lab! It's such a lovely glimpse into group dynamics, with of course a starring role for our Greg, who makes Nick laugh. (And is that thigh touching we see under the table?)


Before we get to the fun scene, we have two serious moments...

NICK: Fellas. We have a little problem.

And now it's time for a picnic!

(Nick returns to the table after talking to Catherine on the phone.)
NICK: DNA confirmed to everyone but Cassie.

SARA: Interesting.
NICK: Mm-hmm.

WARRICK: Mark knew the pot was there because of Jeremy. [...]

GREG: Yeah, so how does that end up a quadruple murder?
SARA: One of them was stupid enough to bring a gun.

WARRICK: I was talking to Tina the other night... She said something to make me think.
GREG: *cough*Yoko Ono.*cough*

{No, really, Warrick, I had a cough! Please, continue} :-D

WARRICK: Tina's dad is a doctor of anthropology, so, one day, when she was a
little girl, she asked her dad where on her body her anthropology was. You know, he's a doctor.
Mark's dad's a lawyer. Maybe Mark was thinking habeas corpus -- "body of the crime"?

SARA: "Body of the crime" is content of the case, not an actual body.
WARRICK: Yeah, but a kid could easily misinterpret. Maybe he's thinking, "no
body, no crime, no crime, no punishment."

SARA: Does Yoko Ono want a job?

Sherrif interupts with evidence. Warrick offers to bring that tape back to the lab

GREG: You feeling a little homesick there?

WARRICK: You want to draw straws?
GREG: No.

WARRICK: Call me if you need me.
NICK: All right.

SARA: All right, let's head over to Locke's house, and see what we can find.

SARA: You coming?

NICK: No ... no, you go ahead, I'll catch up.

SARA: You think she's alive.

This is one of my favorite episodes, both in general and for Nick. I was about to rec my own fic but then remembered it's not technically a follow up to this one but another episode and mentions the events of this one, lol.

I love Nick and Greg, but the friendship between Nick and Sara in this scene (and episode in general) is just adorable. XD

AHHHHHHHHHH! I LOVE this episode! It's one of my favorites with Nick, and the bit between him and Sara, it gets me every time. Not only because of Grave Danger (god, those episodes haunt me) or Dead Doll, but just in general, it's a very moving scene. I just don't have enough words to describe everything that's beautiful with this episode, and why it's so awesome!
