S04Ep08 After The Show
Wow, despite the lack of text y'all sure were inspired to babble about last week's classic;)
Let's see what you can come up with after the following memorable moments from Season 4. Nick and Greg only talk to each other once, but we included each one of them talking about the other and a scene in which Nick's face says it all.

Not only did Catherine pull rank to get a case, she picked Labrat Greg to help her out.

[OS] Sherrif Atwater: Who's that with Catherine?
Grissom: Greg Sanders. DNA.

Greg: So, I know Warrick's off. And Sara's pissed....

Greg: ...Why not ask Nick to help?

Catherine: You want to learn. And you can start by not repeating my mistakes.
Greg: You mean Sam Braun?
Catherine: I screwed up. You covered me.
Greg: That's why I'm here?

Catherine: No, you're here because I want you to be here.
Greg: Oh.

Meanwhile in another office...

Sara: You know what the worst part about this whole thing is? Catherine knows I can do this case.

Nick: *stagewhispers* So can I.

Sara: I would take you and me over Catherine and Greg anytime.
Nick: She's got Greg helping her?

Sara: Yeah.
{YAW CLENCH!!! TONGUE!!}

Nick: Well, the only way to learn is by getting out in the field, and if Greg helps find her, I'm okay with that.
{Sara looks like she's not buying Nick's cool at all;)}

Later in the lay out room

Greg: I finished the DNA from the car. Matches the reference Sara got from
Julie's apartment. And the snack shop? It's the one on Granite's pass. I also
found out what the household item was on the receipt.

Greg: It was a shovel.

At the scene of the crime...

NICK: Okay, Greg, diagram every rock on the pile.

Nick: By trial time, defense will make us recreate this whole crime scene.

Awh. Both so worn out after working all night. Woobies.

So this is really about how they respond to each other when they are NOT working together. We think there is still a bit of hero-worshipping from Greg and Nick may still have some issues with Greg going out in the field. (Although how awesome is he in tutor mode in that last scene?) Your input please!

#11 + #12 Greg looks a little (a lot!) tense, as if he knows they've been doubting his abilities and Nick looks guilty. ("I'm sorry, babe, I know you can do a good job") He of course makes up for it later when he helps Greg out in the field. Ahw.

Also: Greg's hair FTW \o/

Poor Nicky, I imagine he's so torn. He knows what Greggo can do and that he'll make an awesome CSI, but he also knows how dangerous it can be out in the field and he just wants to keep his baby safe ♥

Oh, I know we all can come up with plenty of follow up scenes in which Nick apologizes to Greg;)

Ahw, yes. Remember Chasing The Bus (http://nickngreg.livejournal.com/1323937.html)? That is my go-to episode for showing how Nick responds to Greg being too eager in the field: definitely torn between being impressed by his enthousiasm and worried about his lack of knowledge of the impact of a (bloody) crime-scene.

My personal theory is that Nick is feeling a little possessive and that's why he doesn't want Greg spending time with Catherine :D! And I love Nicky saying that working is the only way to learn, proves what a good guy he is.

Ahw, I don't think Nick has anything to worry about, it seems to me he is the only one being distracted while working next to Greg *g*

I love how Nick is always being noble when it comes to work, even though he had his 'not fair' whine moments in the past, from S4 on he sure knew how to act like an adult about unexpected assignment issues.

Well, now that I think about it... of course Nick was distracted! Because Greg's hair just looks too cute in this episode! I just want to ruffle it since he looks all puppyish :)

Confident Nick is one of my favorites!
