S2Ep09 And Then There Were None
While the mods are busy investigating S10 for the next round of polls, we are going back to the good old days. Here's a classic moment from Season 2 with Labrat!Greg and Eager!Young!CSI-Nick battling over what's the coolest magazine. We think it's all code for something subtexty;)

NICK: You're a surfer now?

NICK: We're 300 miles from the nearest beach.

GREG: Surfing's just a state of mind.

{Greg obviously doesn't want to play, so Nick gets a little pissy}

NICK: I got your page. Where's my report?

GREG: Oh, relax, bro. The GC mass spec's working on it.

GREG: Should be done, um...

{"Bro? Really?"}

(The spectrometer beeps.)

GREG: ... now.

GREG: Transmission fluid.

NICK: Yeah, thanks.

NICK: Type "f" with dexron.

GREG: So?

NICK: *So* ...
(He grabs the magazine.)

NICK: ...you should be reading Car & Driver instead of Sand and Surf.

NICK: Someone put the wrong type of fluid transmission. See, Ford automobiles use a thick red Type-F transmission fluid. General Motors uses a thinner, yellow fluid with dexron. Now, when dexron's put into a Ford it thins that Type-F fluid. Friction builds, gears grind.

{GREG: "This is all so fascinating" *stares* "You're pretty when you're in explainy mode"}
NICK (continues): The second gear is usually the first to go. Friction causes the engine to overheat, in turn cooking the transmission fluid turning it brown.

NICK: Leak on the pavement is the first clue you've got a problem.

GREG: Congratulations: you're looking for a Ford with a leak.

NICK: Not just Ford. The getaway vehicle has a stubborn second gear.

GREG: Which means it can't get very far.

NICK: My guess is it's already been dumped.
{D'oh}

Of course Greg still looks the same these days (bastard!) but Nick, oh my. I love his hair! (and look at those eyebrows! He's so disappointed Greg isn't in playing mood)

Nick is way too obvious in #14. He's staring down at Greg appreciably, admiring his long lines and noticing how his shirt rides up, ever so slightly, giving him a brief glimpse of Greg's happy trail pale skin as he reaches back to get the paper off of the printer.

And of course, Greg was probably doing that on purpose... making sure to wear his shirt with a button undone and all - just for Nick.

Besides that, Nick was gawking at Greg's stomach and plotting out all the ways that he could mark up that fair skin of his. ;-)
