Classic Episode Discussion: S2Ep09
Feb. 22nd, 2011 11:49 pmS2Ep09 And Then There Were None
While the mods are busy investigating S10 for the next round of polls, we are going back to the good old days. Here's a classic moment from Season 2 with Labrat!Greg and Eager!Young!CSI-Nick battling over what's the coolest magazine. We think it's all code for something subtexty;)
01.
{An artistic impression of Nick approaching the lab while Greg is reading}
02.
{Look at his face when Nick sees Greg is unaware of his arrival:)}
03.
{Sssht, Greg's reading Sand & Surf}
04.
NICK: You're a surfer now?
05.
GREG: Dude, I rip.
06.
NICK: We're 300 miles from the nearest beach.
07.
GREG: Surfing's just a state of mind.
08.
{Greg obviously doesn't want to play, so Nick gets a little pissy}
09.
NICK: I got your page. Where's my report?
10.
GREG: Oh, relax, bro. The GC mass spec's working on it.
11.
GREG: Should be done, um...
12.
...
{"Bro? Really?"}
13.
(The spectrometer beeps.)
14.
GREG: ... now.
15.
{GIMME!}
16.
GREG: Transmission fluid.
17.
NICK: Yeah, thanks.
18.
NICK: Type "f" with dexron.
19.
GREG: So?
20.
NICK: *So* ...
(He grabs the magazine.)
21.
NICK: ...you should be reading Car & Driver instead of Sand and Surf.
22.
NICK: Someone put the wrong type of fluid transmission. See, Ford automobiles use a thick red Type-F transmission fluid. General Motors uses a thinner, yellow fluid with dexron. Now, when dexron's put into a Ford it thins that Type-F fluid. Friction builds, gears grind.
23.
{GREG: "This is all so fascinating" *stares* "You're pretty when you're in explainy mode"}
NICK (continues): The second gear is usually the first to go. Friction causes the engine to overheat, in turn cooking the transmission fluid turning it brown.
24.
NICK: Leak on the pavement is the first clue you've got a problem.
25.
GREG: Congratulations: you're looking for a Ford with a leak.
26.
NICK: Not just Ford. The getaway vehicle has a stubborn second gear.
27.
GREG: Which means it can't get very far.
28.
NICK: My guess is it's already been dumped.
{D'oh}
Ahw, still in the early flirting stage: aren't they cute? We challenge you to write the non verbal conversation:) Or comment on their young faces and funky hairdo's.
