There is no new episode this week, so we're offering an extra dose of moments from the past to enjoy. This Season 9 episode contains all the familiar ingredients: Greg talks about his kinks, Nick gets flustered. In short: classic stuff *grins*

---SCENE 1: the naughty box---
Riley and Greg check out the scene while Nick is on the phone with Grissom.

Nick: Okay, copy that. I'll fax you the overalls, if we find anything.

In Scene One, Nick is scared to death that Greg is going to let it slip that they have their own "naughty box", and that they use it on a fairly regular basis...LOL
In Scene Two, both Nick and Greg are thinking of which "game" they want to play when they get home, Greg needn't worry because Nick sort of seems inspired, but he wants it to be a surprise.
In Scene Three, Greg is hoping that if he looks all wide-eyed and innocent that Nick will have mercy on him...NOT! ;)

The wide-eyed,innocent look is designed to tease and terrorize Nick into finding a secluded supply closet, a locked office with the blinds drawn, any place he can find. Of course, it makes things that much better when they do finally make it home!!!

I agree with you on all counts;) I loved how panicky Nick jelled at them to quit the dirty talk *grins* He gets so nervous every time Greg talkes kinky and that just inspires Greg to tease him more.

Looking back on this episode I always thought the exchange involving the "Hey! Knock it off!" was one of the biggest clues to their relationship. Like, "Hey! Stop flirting with the new girl over a naughty box while I'm right here!"

And I always played dentist on my stuffed animals using my dad's tool kit; had my own doctor's kit and even applied for nursing school (but didn't get in - waiting list was too long, and I didn't take the required chemistry class)... but I still have a strange fascination with medicine and medical shows, so I'll join the supervision. As well as volunteering to help them learn how to use those things properly. (What? I wrote a paper on BDSM for a human sexuality class in college and managed to scare my teacher...)

I guess y’all have covered just about everything here, but I’ll stick my two-cents in because this ep is too good to let slide by without commenting.

The symbolism of Nick placing himself in the closet was too obvious to ignore.

Though Greg undoubtedly had fun exchanging sexual quips with Riley, his main intent was to push Nick’s discomfort buttons and make him jealous in the process.

The slash symbolism was so blatantly obvious, I wouldn’t be surprised if T.P.T.B. weren’t tossing us a slashy bone and toying with the fandom just a bit.

I think you can see Greg's mind wandering even before Riley asks him about being tied up;) I'm sure he grasps every opportunity to tease Nick. I don't think he was trying to make Nick jealous though: he just likes to make him squirm. If Nick hadn't interupted him, I'm sure Greg would have said something about "someone's" hair being too short to pull (or possibly how he cut his hair short to get back at a certain someone who was into hairpulling) *grins*

To me, the 'tuning fork' scene seemed less about Greg teasing Nick or flirting with Riley and more about Greg being uncharacteristically uncomfortable and Nick handling it by putting the 'kids' back on track. Greg has never hesitated to have conversations about kinks/sex/past experiences (especially with Nick) before...or use correct or kinky terminology. In this scene, however, he hesitates to answer, Gives Riley a clear 'what the hell?' look when she asks if he's been tied up, and then gives a non-answer before Nick jumps in to save him.

I do love that Nick hides in the closet for the sex talk and that Greg is so intrigued by the spur. You know they had great cowboy or sheriff role-plays after this.

The boys share some great looks in this episodes and I love the way they work & think together during the group discussions. ^_^

That's an interesting theory and I see what you mean, but I also see that sparkle of enthusiasm in Greg's eye, so I don't believe he was uncomfortable - or he wasn't aware of the inappropriate conversation until he realized Nick could hear them;) I would say the use of the term Tuning Forks was for the benefit of Nick (who was still in the room at that point). I think Greg is usually most outspoken on the subject of sex when it's one on one, no matter who he's talking to.

I bet the box was an inspiration for Greg and even Nick obviously has Lady Heather's teachings on his mind. I like that Catherine is the one taking over his role of 'adult' and changing the subject :-D It's also nice to see the difference in response to that; Greg in the first scene seems amused about being busted, Nick in the second scene immediately goes into serious mode.

Thank you. I didn't notice the spark of enthusiasm until after Nick spoke, and it's because Greg is usually so outspoken that his hesitation struck me as odd in this conversation. Especially since I agreed with the actress who played Riley (forgot her name just now) that she and Greg have a great brother-sister banter going normally.

Greg's expression in scene 2 when Nick mentions Lady Heather is priceless! He's like, 'Oh yeah, we know who she is, don't we Nicky?'
Overall I feel this is one episode that gives the best subtext for the recent seasons!
