Oh, these were all such great moments/episodes, but Redrum won out. That wink is so great, and even the whole scene before that. I love that Nick waits until Warrick and Sara actually say the words before accepting that they are with him, but not Greg. Also, Greg's almost bored look-about before shrugging and nodding is like he's saying 'of course I'm with you', as though Nick never should have bothered to ask.

In general, I think the four of them made that episode. Especially Nick, who I normally didn't like as much when on his own in the older episodes.

I like your recap of Greg's response:) Nick is my hero in this episode; so fierce and determined. He finally showed his leadership abilities and I'm still confused why Catherine got the supervisor job. It seems that all her dubious history was overlooked in favor of seniority. Apart from accidental mishaps, Nick always stuck by the rules. (I now of course worry you will set me straight on this issue, but until then I'm convinced we've not seen him ever getting out of line or going against the advice of a superior before Redrum)

Thank you. Nick really rocks in this episode. Well, aside from having about a decade's worth of experience on Nick, Catherine also had previously attended conferences required to become a supervisor and showed interest/initiative toward that end for years. That's probably why she got the job. Personally, as of season 10, I didn't think either Catherine or Nick should have been made supervisor.

Well, I would think Nick's behavior in Gumdrops and Fannysmackin' would at least put a mark on his record (and Grissom's Divine Comedy implies that the events of Boom continue to tarnish his reputation, if not his record). That said, his would still look better than Catherine's if the lab director knew what we did. Although its made clear that both Greg and Grissom covered for her on the paternity test bit from the season three finale, the fact that Sam got off using the fact that she misused evidence should have darkened her reputation. Let's not forget the lab explosion and the time she drank while on call and lied about being at a crime scene...plus she used the lab for personal reasons again in the beginning of season seven (when she was drugged). There's also the general lack of professionalism that she's shown since season three.

OH, that's true about her training for it and Nick was indeed stuck in 'silk, silk, silk' mode for too long and he did have anger-issues, but I still think he was ready to supervise when Grissom left.

Although I must admit Catherine did get a grip on things this season. But since I'm four episodes behind on Season 11, I have no idea how everyone is doing at the moment. I plan to catch up before the end of the year;)

Yeah, they really should start dropping hints that Nick is furthering his education/certification in the show, beyond the entomology study. As far as we know, he still has no further qualifications than he did in season seven.

I haven't seen any of the new season. I'm glad to hear the character is improving.
