Date: 2010-10-15 11:29 am (UTC)And finally they started using Greg more, gaining a lot of the evidence and general information although sadly they seemed to pair him with Catherine a lot or just allowed him to wander around on his own. Oh well, it's a step forward, and we did get Papa Olaf again ^^
The episode itself was okay, although I have to admit it got a bit irritating; I disliked the bad guy, mostly because it reminded me a little too much of the X-files and also the fan fics that pump up an original character until invincible proportions using main characters saying 'oh yes, this is incredible'. Which, if you put it against cold cases and past murderers throughout the show, the enemy isn't. Mind you, I've probably got a bit cynical because of the book placement aspect of the character. Pah.
Generally a thumbs up, even with the presence of the world's most unobservant child in the back of that car!

Date: 2010-10-15 07:54 pm (UTC)THIS. I kept grabbing at my blankets when Greg and Catherine were in the car wash, and when Greg was at the mansion looking for the guy after what's her face got away from him. Idk, so many scenes and I kept going OMG GREG I DON'T WANT YOU TO GET HURT BUT I KIND OF DO BECAUSE I LOVE IT WHEN THEY HAVE AN EXCUSE TO FOCUS ON YOU. :')
And Nick smashing into that paramedic's car, Lolol. He's just all "exigent circumstances". Oh, Nicky.

Date: 2010-10-15 07:50 pm (UTC)THE LATEX, AND PAPA OLAF, AND THE "STALKER" REFERENCE, AND NICK AND HODGES, AND NICK AND CATHERINE AT THAT ADULT BOUTIQUE, AND SLKDJFLSKJS THE FACT THAT HE USES A STRAIGHT RAZOR, IDK IDK. THE KILLER WAS SO CREEPY, YOU GUYS. I LOVED IT. I cannot WAIT for him to come back.
I also seriously enjoyed Greg finding key pieces of evidence. YES PLEASE. Not to say he doesn't normally, but it's always nice when he plays even a marginally important role in solving the case. <3
Also, Ray, what were you doing, looking for the serial killer at the end? You just had surgery, you can't chase him down and apprehend him. What were you gonna do, beat him with your cane? Idk idk, I just wanted to yell at Ray to stay back, that wasn't the time for him to be looking for a suspect in a dark mansion.
AND BRASS, WITH THE LITTLE GIRL. ILUSM BRASS. ♥
ALSO, ALSO. I flailed so hard over Kris Lemche being in this episode. So hard. I want him to be Ian Moone.
Um, anyway. I also, quite randomly, enjoyed the faces Nick made this episode. IDK IDK, don't judge me. He just cracks me up when he scrunches his face all up in disdain or confusion. Idek.
I hope this rant is okay. I know it didn't solely focus on Nick and/or Greg, but well.

Date: 2010-10-17 09:41 am (UTC)I agree that Nick pulling faces is a beautiful thing to watch: even though I'm not a big fan of his buzzcut, it does give his eyebrows a chance to really shine *grins*

Date: 2010-10-17 05:11 pm (UTC)I don't know how I feel about the buzzcut. I just don't know why he cut it, when it was so pretty all last season. ):
Now what is Greg supposed to run his fingers through?no subject
Date: 2010-10-15 11:53 pm (UTC)Greg got a lot of screentime, which is always a good thing! and I totally loved the moment they shared when Greg was talking about the window. "or a leprechaun..." priceless <3
and papa Olaf's reference!! at that moment I felt like Greg was being how he used to be at the lab, pretty moment~
and Brass and Hodges made me laugh xD even though Brass' moment was a bit.. ehm... sad. but he was talking to the doll! sweetsweetsweet~
and, well, nothing much to say about this Ian Moone guy, he was... odd to say the least, but i'd like him to appear on another episode, he's pretty interesting~

Date: 2010-10-16 03:07 pm (UTC)Greg was brilliant; not backing down when Nick tried to pull the "I already found the point of entry, baby", but simply including his findings into the pile of evidence around the house.
The looks between Nick and Greg when Ray was explaining his hourglass theory were precious. As were all the other scenes where they got to interact with each other.
Required Ray-rant: dude, you lost a kidney, please don't go lifting any furniture, let alone a kingsize bed, on your own. Dumb ass.
Mini Hodges-rant: who left and put you in charge of DNA? *rolls eyes*
/rant.
We got more of Papa Olaf's wisdom! And Greg refering to himself as Hojem! \o/\o/
Did y'all notice how Greg took it upon himself to check out the second hole in the ceiling, thus preventing Nick from having to deal with that?
And finally: nice pants, Nick. Could they be ANY tighter? Don't think so. Yum.

Date: 2010-10-17 05:18 pm (UTC)Uh, anyway. Idk, I don't like that they repeatedly do this with Nick. For instance, I know that it wasn't the same circumstance, but in that season 10 episode where the young boy was violently raped by his girlfriend's older brother (wasn't it her older brother? They owned that video store) Nick was all aloof on how to handle him; and I can understand that, because it is difficult when it comes to those situations. Everyone handles it differently. But, at the same time, the angle they were playing it had Nick feeling awkward and helpless because the rape victim was a boy, and that's what made me upset: Nick of all people in the lab should understand what it's like to be sexually abused. Idk, I may have been getting my hopes up at any prospect of them mentioning Nick's background at that time, so you know, I may be way off base here. By all means, I don't want to be stomping all over the TPTB for no reason. ;)
Er, mini rant isn't all that mini, sorry! :)
(And yay Greggo! I was proud of him too. ;])

Date: 2010-10-17 05:43 pm (UTC)I suppose we should be glad we at least got thrown a bone this time around.
At least we have Greg to make us feel better:)

Date: 2010-10-18 12:57 am (UTC)And you're right. I try to enjoy what they give us and not dwell on all they skip out on, but it can be annoying, sometimes. Nevertheless! I will always love this show. :D

Date: 2010-10-24 04:06 am (UTC)Damn, if I wasn't already disappointed that I can't watch the new episodes as they air, I would definitely be now. And the episode had Ann-Margret in it. *sigh*
