Most people want to know your favorite story, I'm curious about your favorite writer.

Who are the writers that make you wait up all night because you know they are going to post something new?

And if you feel you must, tell me the favorite story that they wrote, the one I just HAVE to read.

Thanks!

If you're okay with kinky fics, [livejournal.com profile] rispacooper is like the Queen of Kinky Fics. This is one of my favorites by her: Submission Games (http://rispacooper.livejournal.com/179485.html#cutid1)

A couple of other writers that I like, that haven't written anything in a while (at least, not that I've read!) are: [livejournal.com profile] it_glitters and [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane

Honestly, I haven't seen any author I'd wait up all night for in about a year now, but read anything by [livejournal.com profile] geekwriter143 and [livejournal.com profile] catlover2x. I also ditto it_glittesr and carolinecrane.

LOL! I hate when I screw up code. Always such a pain.

I think I cried when Sarah left the fandom IN THE MIDDLE OF NOT EVEN POETS. Seriously, that kinda killed me.

I know - when a writer stops a story halfway through, it's frustrating! I kind of feel like ghost-writing the ending of the story when it happens!

And I *heart* your icon - Nick and Greg are quite obvious at times!

I did think of that, but there's just know way I could ever live up to her writing. I'm no hack, but she, for me at least, is the be all and end all of Nickngreg writers.

Thanks! It's my oldest and most cherished icon. One of the few I've made and actually like. I'm no longer in the fandom really, but I still love the pairing to death, and stick around the comms to point people towards awesome, like I did today. I will always hold a special place in my heart for these boys as they were basically my online life for about 6 years and resulted in me finding some of my best friends.

But now I'm getting all maudlin at 3am, so I will stop. :D

Maudlin is fine! :-)

And I was like you with the fandom - got into the CSI fandom, then left for a while (the lure of Pete Wentz and Brandon Urie getting it on with their respective band members was too great)! Now, I'm back the CSI fandom ... well, reading on a regular basis, at least!

Also, I'm totally with you on meeting some of my best friends in fandoms - I actually met my wife on a Barenaked Ladies fansite several years back!

I think I just burned myself out on the CSI fandom. Six years is a long time and I just don't find the show to be as good as it was. The team just doesn't have the same chemistry. I hated that they killed off Warrick and what they did with GSR. I actually love Sara, but hate how she is with Grissom. What I've seen of her in recent eps without him has been truly awesome.

Anyway, I'll never get rid of this community, but currently I'm neck deep in the House fandom and loving it to bits. I just like to help noobs out and occasionally read some of the old classics.

Barenaked Ladies fansite? You Canadian too?

I wish I were Canadian - I'm from the States (currently in San Francisco)! I actually got into BNL back in 1992 - used to play "Grade 9" for my brother constantly when he'd started high school.

Never read anything in the House fandom, so I'll have to check that out! And I'm with you on CSI seeming to lose a lot of the chemistry - watching old episodes, I'm like (near whiny) "I miss Warrick and Grissom". And where did Greg's sense of humor and crazy hair go, anyways?

It seems like everyone wants to be Canadian! :D We are fun people after all. I had an 11 hour stop over in San Fran once so I got to see a small bit of it. Just enough to know that I want to go back! Everyone got into BNL in '92. Gordon was everywhere, especially here!

I probably shouldn't pimp one fandom in another, but yeah, I highly recommend the House fandom. House/Wilson writers are absolutely amazing. I've heard House/Cuddy authors are good too, but I'm a slasher all the way.

I almost cry everytime I see anything season 5 and earlier. It just breaks my heart what's happened to the show.

S'okay ... I've pimped fandoms in other groups (oops?).

Also, do you mind if I add you as a friend?

Well, let me know what you think of it over there, if/when you make it. I love spreading the fandom love!

Of course you can! I may be friends only, but I love making new friends... if that makes any sense. :D

Ah, authors. I see people already mentioned the big names from the beginnings of fandom. Of course [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane and [livejournal.com profile] geekwriter143 are also on top of my list. Another favorite of mine is [livejournal.com profile] kennedy_unknown; he wrote some epic fics - Meeting the Stokes family-fic Don't Fence Me In (http://wmtdb.zero-creativity.net/beautiful/ViewText.aspx?cid=752&chapter=1) and AU jungle-adventure The Lost Tribe of Samartia (http://wmtdb.zero-creativity.net/beautiful/ViewText.aspx?cid=1350&chapter=1) - as well as loads of sweet short curtainfics. (There are over 30 stories at WMTDB (http://wmtdb.zero-creativity.net/beautiful/MoreContent.aspx?uid=3237&user=kennedy&type=2):) I love the comfortable homely feel of his stories.

A relatively recent discovery is [livejournal.com profile] saras_girl. You can find her CSI fics here (http://saras-girl.livejournal.com/tag/nick/greg) (I highly recommend A Certain Sunset). I like her style, because it brought something fresh to fandom. She's not afraid to add original characters to bring out hidden sides of Nick and Greg.

Personally I can't stand caroline cranes online personallity and it put me off her works.
I love geek and consider her fics to be the cannon of my take of the nick and greg relationship.
I also love quetteser (sp). Shacky20 and flipflopaddict and theillegaloperation round out my top five. Oh wait throw catloverx2 in there as well. Sorry if I butured screen names. I came to know most of the above writters by their real life names and sometimes forget their screen names.

Can't help you with 'theillegaloperation', but I do remember [livejournal.com profile] flipflopadd1ct (aka Jeff) from the old days. Most of his stories are locked, but you can find links to available older fics on this reclist (http://www.gryvon.com/rec/reviews.php?fandom=csi):)
Happy reading!

I appreciate your input, but as a mod and as a fan of fiction it makes me sad that you have to bring negativity to this post. You are of course entitled to your opinion on anyone and anything, but please save it for your own journal?

[livejournal.com profile] quettaser is spelled like this;)
