So Nick comes back from his shower and Greg is scowling at him? Hmmm.
Maybe it was because of the 'You got to be kidding me'-look Nick gave Greg after being introduced to Chandra in scene 1? (#07 / #09 / #10)
or possibly because Greg wished he could have joined Nick in the shower *grins*.

This has nothing to do with this exactly, well it does, but it would have been interesting to see something along the lines of, if Greg had stayed in the lab, he and Nick could have dated (more) openly. So a fic where Nick has been thinking about finally asking him out only to learn that Greg wants out of the lab, and secretly hoping Greg can't find a replacement and then feeling guilty because he wants Greg to succeed and be happy. But he doesn't want to be Greg's supervisor because then he'd been breaking the rules to ask Greg out. And Nick doesn't like breaking rules.

Then there could be misunderstandings, and maybe Nick thinking that Greg's flirting didn't mean anything after all because now Greg wants out, but meanwhile Greg wants to succeed but also feels he has pathetic Nick crush that isn't going anywhere, but at least out in the field he'll be seeing more of Nick...

And then luckily, Greg doesn't mind breaking the rules. So there can still be a happy ending.

Wow, that is so weird...I just started my first CSI fanfic and it takes place in this season and even has a Brian (Alien/Elvis guy) cameo. Thank you, now I'm even more inspired to finish it (I had just been thinking it might not be what I want for my first CSI fic post).

You know, this episode was a lot stronger in The Love department than I realised upon first seeing it. Also, now that I'm thinking of it, the boys really have the whole silent communication bit down to a science from this season on... I wonder if something changed with Greg making the move into the field or if I just never noticed it in the previous seasons.
