WMTDB Update

Because there have been a couple of queries about WMTDB, here's a small update.

The archives from What Makes The Desert Beautiful have been moved to a beta-site before the account was expired: we updated the link in the sidebar. All of the old fics should still be there and as far as we know you can still upload new stories.

As soon as there's news about the new website, we'll let you know.


In the mean time, a quick reminder you of the community features that are available:
* Our weekly Classic Scenes discussions; here you can reminisce about the good ol' days, when the guys seemed to be flirting non stop.
* Talk about the latest episodes in Season 10
* The Search For The Favorite Nick And Greg Scene Of All Time. You can still vote in the polls or defend your favorite in the comments.

hey, just wondering of the all the stories from the page what makes the desert beautiful, will they also get moved to the new site? with the new ones, i mean stories?

Hello Anon, I'm not sure I understand your question. As far as we (the mods) know all the stories that were up in October 2009 were transported to the new site. We're not sure about fiction that was uploaded during the transition. We are trying to connect with the maintainers of WMTDB to get more information.

If you are looking for a particular story or author, let us know. I personally have an old back up of the desert and there is at least one old mod who also saved (part of) the archives.
If you want to try and clarify your question in your own language (Norwegian from the looks of your IP) go ahead, the mods are multilingual;)

thanks, but i will try in english:)
its just that i went true every stories on wmtdb, and wrote down every one i wantet to read later on and the ones i have read, just making a favorite list og athours and stories, so now the site i gone, and that way i was wondering about everything on the site was moved to the new site, i have found some of them on the new site, but there i a lot missing, i have name and password on the new site just like the old one, så i can read, rewiew and place favorites on my list, but on the new site i get a litle "lost". i hope you understand what i mean:)

I think I understand; the new site is harder to navigate than the old one. Sadly I don't know how to fix that. But like I said: if you happen to have specific titles or authors you are missing, just tell us and we'll see if we can find them for you:) There are a lot of people around who are willing to do a fic-search:)

(Did you really go through EVERY story in the archives? That is impressive!)

The WMTB website it currently down. The NicknGreg-mods have contacted the maintainers, but so far there is no news on when it will be up again. Of course we will post an update if there is any change in that situation!

Hope you can get your Nick/Greg fic fix in the community and the other archives that are linked in the side bar (for instance in this REClist (http://nickngreg.livejournal.com/1300769.html#cutid1) and CSI slash (http://chance.popullus.net/csislash/nickgreg.html))
