Date: 2010-03-05 03:48 am (UTC)And was it just me or did the CSI agent remind you of Horatio Crane from CSI:Miami. I was just waiting for him to slowly take off his sunglasses and say something painfully witty.
Oh, and I was sure that I've heard reference in a past episode about Nick saying that he loved country music... Or have I been reading too much fanfiction and everything's just blurring together?

Date: 2010-03-05 04:06 am (UTC)And I thought there was, too - I'm thinking around season 5 somewhere it was mentioned that he liked country music. Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember it that way. Maybe it's just so canon in fanfiction that it's crossed over into the show, though.

Date: 2010-03-06 05:47 pm (UTC)But ya there is evidence of Nick saying that he likes Country Music. But I was also thinking that maybe Nick was just being a bit defensive, saying "ya I like country music, but don't stereotype me", maybe something like that. But whatever, I think they could be a bit better with continuity on the show. They suck keeping up with the little things that real fans will notice.

I know. ): And it's the little things that hold it all together. The science is cool and all, but the continuity is where the characters become interesting.

Date: 2010-03-06 05:36 pm (UTC)Haha, now I have an image of Nick as Superman, red underwear and all!

Date: 2010-03-06 05:41 pm (UTC)But I was thinking, and maybe Nick was just being a bit defensive, like "Hey Ray, don't stereotype me, but yes I do like Country music". But still, I think they could have done it a bit better.

Date: 2010-03-07 10:09 am (UTC)I think y'all have a good explanation for Nick denying he loved country music. I personally wish we could have had Greg talking about music (and how he managed to make Nick forget about his past;)

Date: 2010-03-05 07:19 am (UTC)As far as this episode goes, I loved that there were two scenes with Nick and Greg working together (although the show was almost half over before we saw Greg).
The CIA plot was okay, but it had way too much Langston for my taste. I do understand that he is now the “official” star of the show, but more scenes with Langston usually means less screen time for Greg.

Date: 2010-03-05 10:19 am (UTC)Although I have to say the case they're working on is pretty stupid. Who the hell electorates someone without actually wanting to kill them?!
I enjoyed the CIA case. I could even tolerate Langston somewhat.

Date: 2010-03-05 12:17 pm (UTC)The CIA case was okay, I loved seeing more of Sara. I just hated the CIA actor, and the episode would have been just fine with just the Rascal Flatts case. But it was good. :) It was nice hearing a bit more about Grissom. Leave it to him to take his wife bug searching on their honeymoon. :)

Date: 2010-03-05 11:14 pm (UTC)I was surprised he wasn't there when Catharine and Nick collected the equipment. Nick was very butch, I was impressed. (I also really, REALLY liked that;)
After a lot of A-case we finally got to see the guys together again and to my amusement they matched; same outfit and same slim frame: been shopping and working out together, gentlemen? I approve:)
What I didn't approve of was the predictable case. Crazy fangirl was a -supposedly- funny touch, but it begged for more. It felt as if part of the investigation was missing because TPTB focused on the CIA case. What a waste of Alan Ruck as the potentially interesting manager.
I know Will Patton is a bigger name and he sure got his share of the screentime (obviously channeling Jim Carrey's impression of that CSI-Miami dude;) but with the limited attention for the secundary case, they might as well not have bothered showing it at all.
I guess they needed the musical episode for the soundtrack and I really wished Greg could have been there at the end; he would have been able to give his opinion on the band and explain how he was responsible for Nick totally forgetting about his love for country music. What the hell, continuity?
I will probably like it better on a second viewing, when I don't have to anticipate whether Nick and Greg will be working at all and I can simply enjoy their time together;)
But I prefer to see them on the A-case next time, okay?

Date: 2010-03-06 12:03 am (UTC)Is it bad that every episode I plot how they could kill him off?

Date: 2010-03-06 07:53 am (UTC)I suspected the band were probably well known, but I had never heard of them. I'm not generally a fan when tv-series serve as a showcase for any kind of celebrity. The acting was indeed limited, but so was the handling of the storyline.
But lets get back on topic: Nick was being tough guy, Greg was adorable and they both looked good, which was a true comfort in between the mediocre handling of the cases;)

Date: 2010-03-07 08:45 pm (UTC)But yes, I agree. Our boy's adorableness was indeed a true comfort.
