S6Ep04: Shooting Stars
A quiet moment between the guys: they don't need words to connect; they have The Wave of Love^TM!
This is not long after the events of Grave Danger and Nick is still trying to cope. When he has to enter a creepy dark underground bunker, he of course seeks the support of his boyfriend...

Notice how Greg is concentrating on the job until the moment Nick arrives on the scene; as soon as he hears Nick slam the cardoor, Greg immediately changes his focus.

So it wasn't just me who thought that at the time? I mean, that he was looking back at Greg when he... looked somewhere other than the looming darkness of the bunker? Good to know :D

Oh, there has never been any doubt in my mind about that;) I think Nick wants nothing more than run back for a comforting hug. But he is determined to get back on the job. (I'm sure he got that hug later though;)

You used exactly the words and feeling discribed in the screencaps and my comment above. Clearly this is what's going on in Nick's head;)

(or I must have read that back in the day and applied the fic to the scene in my memory - it was written when I was still lurking, so it's quite possible I was too shy to comment back then)

When I read the comments above, it totally reminded me; so thanks for posting about this episode. :) I remember that what got to me was not only Nicky having to go into the bunker; but it wasn't THAT long after Greg got burned.

I lurk a whole lot lately but maybe with all the episodes with The Love this season, I can get something written again soon.

Yes! This is one of those wonderful moments when there is no physical contact, they aren’t even in close proximity, but the love couldn’t be more obvious.

There must have been noise and doors slamming all over that crime scene. Greg was in super CSI concentration mode, but he immediately knew that Nick was near.

And the waves! I can’t remember any of the CSIs ever greeting each other like that. It definitely jumped out at me. They usually either walk up to each other quietly, or go about their own business.

My heart broke for Nick in this one. He kept looking back to his lifeline for reassurance.

I breathed along with Nick. It was such an intense scene.

The classic scenes discussions were started to inspire people to create fiction or art. Unfortunately we can't always find 'old' follow ups, so I'm glad this time people remembered and shared links. I hope this happens more often in the future:)

Come to think of it, I have never seen the CSIs wave like that before. I mean, they might have waved, but not like that, or from such a distance. Time to ponder on my own.....
And when I first saw this, which was like right after I watched 'Grave Danger' my jaw dropped, and all I could think was 'Seriously?!'

I always thought Nick was glancing back, just in case he wanted to run out of there, but now it does kind of make sense that he was looking back for Greg, so he would know WHO to run to.
