Character Death Story Recs Needed

Hey all,

I'm in the middle of finishing the last big emotional scene in my Nick/Greg story, but for some reason, I'm just not feeling it so much right now.  I guess I'm a bit too emotion-driven when it comes to my fics, but this is a scene that's been running over and over in my mind for about the past year (since I started writing it), but now, after spending too much time in another fandom, I'm feeling thoroughly uninspired, and I feel like I really need a good character death fic to get me re-inspired.  

So my question... what are people's recommendations for absolute tearjerker fics?  I normally avoid character death fics, but right now I would especially appreciate recommendations of that nature.  Still, any really sad fic would be appreciated.  What are the fics that have most driven you guys to tears?

Hey its not a Nick/Greg fic but All Fall Down by Wintertime is an absolutely gut-wrenching fic. Its pretty long but absolutely worth it. One of the only stories to make me cry.

I've got one for you. It's posted in two parts and comes out of the great Apokalypse Challenge of 2005 (challenge originated by Neko). It's old, but as you can tell, the damn thing must have haunted me for it immediately coming to mind four years later. Warning: I found this story so good with the angst/character death that I actually couldn't reread the whole thing and still cried. I'm serious when I say it's haunted me for years.
