So I had a Nick/Greg thought while I was watching tonight's episode and thought I would share

When Hodges went to speak with the psychiatrist and saw Greg in there already and seemingly crying, I didn't realize that he was so close to Warrick. I haven't seen a lot of the earlier episodes, so I don't know. But I thought if he wasn't upset over Warrick's death, maybe he was frustrated over not being able to comfort Nick and didn't know what to do for his boyfriend.

Yes, that is how my mind works. :D

A bit OT, but how did you guys like the new CSI? I'm not sure what I think about her, I hope I like her because it would really suck to have a new character and hate her or something.

Edit: I kind of feel like I have to explain myself a little bit more about the whole Greg crying thing. I mean, I get that they were all close and of course Greg is going to be upset of Warrick's death. It's just I didn't expect him to be the one crying in the psychiatrist's office. Catherine or Nick would have been my first guesses. I dunno.

She creates awkward conversations very quickly. Like with SuperDave. And again with Cath. I dunno.

When did Greggo and Vartann become buddies though?

Maybe during the two years between Vartann's last appearance and this one.

I think anyone would be saddened by the murder of a co-worker even if they were just casual friends. I'm not sure if Greg is overwhelmed by Warrick's death or if it's an accumulation of disasters starting with the lab explosion down to the present time. And don't forget, Greg went from over the top exhilaration (he was flying to LA to talk with a publisher about his book) to down in the depths trying to handle the death of a friend and co-worker.

I think Greg always had a special spot in his heart for Warrick after the episode 'Early Roll Out' when Warrick told him how to arrange his kit and how to set up his bedroom for a call out. If you will remember, he told Warrick that no one had ever taken the time to tell him how to set everything up. Thanks to Warrick he had a big basic explained.

I think there may be a few explanations for Greg's tears.
greg might be feeling survivor guilt. After all, Greg has had so many bad things happen to him: the explosion, Demetrius James and the fannysmacking beating. He has survived while Warrick died.

I always felt they were friends. They teased each other and had each other's back wnen needed. There is the argument of just how good friends were any othe them with Warrick when none knew he had a son. Nick didn't even know.

I do have to say that my daughter and I did talk about Greg needing help with Nick's grief.

Don't forget that in 'No humans involved' it was Warrick who called Greg to make sure he was OK after he found the body of the kid, (Greg returned the call which Warrick didn't take - he said he would check on him in person now he was in the lab)

I do think that Greg and Warrick were closer than even the show 'showed' us.

I think Greg and Warrick sort of had a "big brother/little brother" relationship. Greg did look up to Warrick, and as someone mentioned, he was the only one to take time to help Greg correct things, ya know?

I can see where you are coming from though. :)

As for the new girl, I don't hate her, but I don't like her either. Insted of bringing in some new girl, they could have brought up a charcter already in the show and strengthened their story line.

Working in that environment you become very close with the people you work with. Have you ever seen cops or fireman when they are together?? They share a bond because of the tension when they work. Even if you never saw them outside of work they have a bond. We know that they saw each other off hours so Greg being upset is normal to me. (If one of my co workers died I would be distraught and I work for a grocery company!!)

Going back a few years, when Greg is blown up, hardly anybody notices. Nick goes along with his case and does not hardly even ask about him.

I think this display of grief is more real to life.

Hey, I had exactly the same thought when I saw how upset Greg was. He was totally talking to her about how "Warrick was Nick's best friend and he won't even talk to me about his grief".
I can see everyone's point up above how Warrick was looking out for Greg in scenes we never got to see, but Nick was Warrick's buddy according to canon and he is being way too cool about it (just look at episode 1: "I'm sorry for who-ever did this") All big man, it must be frustrating for Greg. So I agree with you: he is not crying over Warrick, but feeling helpless about not being able to help his boyfriend.
That's my explanation and I'm sticking to it:)
