I have an idea for a sequel to a story I wrote several months ago BUT!!! I've been ill and confined to the house lately and to keep from going bonkers, I've been prowling through every archive I could find. Now I don't know whether my idea is mine or if I'm channeling something I've read. If you've heard this before, please let me know.

Nick and Greg are having problems with their relationship because of their personal characteristics. Nick is nasty nice and Greg is a slob; yes it's a take off of 'The Odd Couple'. Eventually they decide to take a breather from each other but the longer they are apart the more they take on the others personality.

Does that sound familiar???

I'm no expert on Nick and Greg fics, but I've read quite a few, and it doesn't sound at all familiar to me, so I think you can go through with it. :) Sounds interesting to me.

Well I've been reading Nick/Gerg for the last two months staright and I haven't read anything like it. Hope you write it and I looke foreward to reading it!

Does not sound familiar to me either. I mean there has been fics written about their personalities conflicting but nothing like you mentioned.

Just FYI - my recent oneshot does have the boys fighting over Greg being messy among other things and had this part (below), which even uses the Odd Couple phrase, but I think that theme of Greg being sloppy and Nick being uber-neat is open for anyone to use without being accused of copying, because it's canon that Greg is messy. The best example is the episode of Greg's supplies being out of control in the back of his messy car and Warrick yelling at him that he's a slob who needs to get his act together. And when we saw Nick's apartment in Stalker it was immaculate and over-organized :D

My scene:
Greg shook his head as he wildly grinned. “My feet just hurt from working twelve hours, so I’d prefer to get comfortable in bed…if you don’t mind.”

“No, I don’t mind.” Nick returned the grin. “Your place or mine, honey?”

“Mine’s a mess.”

“No surprise there.” Nick pushed open the door to his immaculate bedroom. “C’mon on in, slob.”

“I love this Odd Couple vibe we have goin on.”

“So we’re a couple?”
