Summary: After reading the scenes with a twist by

boho_beata I thought I’d take a stab at it. So I picked the desert scene in Killer.

Nick, Greg and Sara are standing, looking up at the CAT 201 sign. The desert was hot and sounds of ATV’s could be heard all around them.

“So the bus driver said the guy got on here?” Greg asked looking at Sara who nodded in agreement. “You sure this is even a working stop?”

“You know the CAT bus stops here 59 times a day.” Sara replied smiling.

“For what?” Greg asked looking around at the desert.

“Construction workers, hikers, migrants.” Sara replied noticing Nick nodding looking as though he couldn’t believe she knew this. “The name on the driver’s license is fake, but the pictures gotta be real. I’m gonna go wave it around the neighborhood.” She added smiling and walking off.

“Okay.” Nick said waiting till she was at a safe distance. “Is it me or did it seem like she’d never leave?” Nick asked turning toward Greg.

Greg smirked and started walking with Nick into the desert. “So assuming our guy’s not from around here, how did he get here?” Greg asked moving closer to Nick so he could hear him over the ATVs.

“Same way they did.” Nick gestured pointing to the ATVers who were riding around them. “And the same way we did. Don’t tell me you already forgot about that night we spent in the desert?” Nick asked smiling.

Greg offered no response just smiled and walked away. “Every time I come to the desert I see porno mags. Who brings spankables out here?” Greg asked eyeing the book.

“Every time? How many times have you been in the desert?” Nick asked shocked by Greg’s statement.

“Not a lot but a few.” Greg responded bending down to pick up the magazine.

“A few? Well I don’t feel special.” Nick responded squatting down. “It’s probably just trash blown in off the street.” he added looking back at the tire treads.

“Nobody throws away porn, it’s like heirlooms, passed on down through the family tree.” Greg muttered still walking along the trail.

“Papa Olaf pass you down a lot of porn Greggo?” Nick asked trying to be a smart ass.

“No, but I wish he would have my stash sucks.” Greg responded still wandering around looking at the sand.

“Hey Greg, come here and check this out.” Nick hollered getting Greg’s attention.

“Now I thought showing me your dick was prohibited at work?” Greg asked grinning hoping to get a reaction from Nick.

Nick looked at him and cocked an eyebrow. “Single set of ATV tracks goes off the trail back there into here. Killer could have dumped the ATV and got on the bus.” He said pointing out the tracks leading to a pile of burned debris.

They squatted down to better inspect the mess. Greg reached out and picked up a large boot. “Whoever was here had some big shoes. Wonder if it’s true what they say about the size of a man’s feet?” he asked placing the boot back in the pile.

“Well Greg, you know how big my feet are, is it true?” Nick asked smiling.

Greg smiled and shook his head yes before picking up what appeared to be a bunch of wadded up socks. “But not necessarily big feet, multiple socks? That’s false advertisement.” He stated setting them back in the pile.

“Another precaution to cover your tracks.” Nick offered reaching down into the pile.

“Assuming this is our guy.” Greg said looking at Nick who was pre occupied with a glove he’d picked up.

“I’d say it’s our guy, and I think he just gave us the finger.” he said holding up a charred glove with the middle finger sticking up.

“I wouldn’t mind giving you something and a finger is only part of it.” Greg said standing up.

“You tease.” Nick responded fallowing him out to the roadside.
