AN: Your typical fluff... What can I say?
“Let me guess,” he said with a slight drawl and the roll of his eyes, sauntering into the bedroom, “it’s either got to be Colin Farrell or Hugh Grant … I’m going to go with Farrell.”
Nick had come home after the end of a not too exciting swing shift, in which he processed evidence in a case of 'when cats attack', to find Greg in bed, his laptop on his knees with some movie going. It was the same place he had been in when Nick left for his shift over eight hours ago.
He had leaned against the bedroom doorframe for five minutes or before saying anything; Greg had been too caught up in his movie even notice that Nick was watching him.
When Nick had spoken suddenly, Greg had startled and looked at the approaching Texan for a brief moment before looking back to the screen.
“You’re only saying that because you hope that it’s something you’d want to watch,” Greg sniffled and rubbed at his nose with a Kleenex.
“No G,” he said with a small smile in his tone while he crawled on his stomach onto the bed next to where Greg sat, “then it would have to be a good, classic Western, perhaps High Noon or the original Alamo.” Greg scoffed, but Nick continued. “I could deal with a little Colin Farrell action however.”
At this Nick looked over his shoulder at the computer screen to find Hugh Grant surrounded by shelves of books and Julia Roberts casually browsing through the titles wearing massive sunglasses. Nick groaned.
“Sorry to disappoint babe,” Greg apologized, never diverting his attention away from the screen.
“You and your chick flicks,” Nick mumbled, shaking his head and backing up so he was now kneeling on the bed, “I’ll never understand.”
“They’re romantic comedies, Nicky,” Greg corrected, finally pulling his eyes off the laptop and looking at Nick long enough for Nick to steal a soft, quick kiss. “Are you forgetting I’m sick?”
“No, it’s the only reason I’m letting you sit in our bed and watch those filthy movies of yours.”
Greg went back to his movie as Nick left the room, heading toward the kitchen. He returned no more than five minutes later with a steaming cup of tea in one hand.
“Besides,” he concluded, handing the cup to Greg, “maybe I’m hoping that we can both take a couple of sick days and I can lie around all day in bed and watch movies with you.”
Grinning boyishly as he took a deep drink from the cup, Greg nodded, “That might not be so bad.” He looked to Nick, letting him steal another soft kiss.
“But G,” Nick curled up next to Greg, lying an arm protectively around Greg’s stomach, “there’d be none of your romantic comedies.”
Greg chuckled at Nick’s mocking of him and as he finished his beloved Hugh Grant movie, sipping on the tea Nick had brought him, Nick fell asleep with his head on Greg’s chest and his arm still wrapped around Greg’s middle.
