*Mod post* Tags

I'd like to remind people that it is from now on necessary to TAG ALL your FIc posts. If they aren't tagged they won't be listed in the tag table, so users can't look them up again when they search for your fic.

Tags are going to be the following

*Rating*, fic: "name of fic", author name.

So far, I tagged all stories that haven't been tagged properly, or haven't been tagged at all. But I'm not going to keep on tagging. Forgetting a tag is no problem, but please, people, at least try to remember, would be an enormous help for the mods and the users.

Ok - I have an issue - I tried to tag my new fic and it let's me do my name and rating, but I've tried is twice and can't get it to do the fic part (I'll type it in and it doesn't show on the post) - Am I not supposed to be able to do this, or is my computer just on crack?

ahm maybe you can't create new tags and just the mods can create new ones. don't worry, that's okay =)

Ok - so for clarity's sake (because I can be sorta thick sometimes) - when I post a new fic, you'll have to do the tags for the fic name. But if I was doing something like catlover2x (since there post is just after mine, and I'm reading the story now) and had a series - the series name would pop up fine when I typed it in (sorta like the name/rating) because it already has a tag and then you would have to do nothing - right?

Yep, you CAN'T create new tags. The only people that can do so are the mods or maintainers. I know it's totally stupid, but i the end it's okay. Can't change it anyway. But don't worry we have a close look on the tags, so we make sure that everything is tagged properly.

I didn't know if you were saying you couldn't because you had set it that way or because you didn't know that you could change the settings so FAQ#229 (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=229&view=full) on tag permissions.

OK I'm going to sound stupid, but HOW do you tag? Is it automatic? I noticed there were tags on the latest X2, RodeoBoyz. Did I put them there or did you? Eeeek! Help!

tagged them for you already :)
but you have a line in the box under the text of your post. and the last line says 'Tags' and there you type in the tags :) hope that helps, and i explained things good.

Hopefully the tagging works now, snce I changed the settings and every user is now allowed to even tag new stuff.
