Nov. 29th, 2005 08:14 pmSorry for this pointless post, but if you reply it will help me with these ideas I have for stories that I will be writing soon. Anyways, I was just wondering if any of you have any ideas of how to describe Nick and Greg's voices? Sounds stupid, but it would help me, seriously. I was also wondering if you could possibly help me think of words to describe them both (personality, demeanour, body...). Thanks people!

Date: 2005-11-29 08:39 pm (UTC)I think of Greg's voice as crisp. He is vibrant and often portrayed as the newbie. But he is smart, intelligent and has his opinions courage most of the time. He is curious and bold. In the three first seasons he seemed a bit scrawny, but has buffed up and I guess he is about the same size as Nick now. Though Nick still have the whole arm-thing going. I tend to see Greg as a giving loving person, but also someone who knows his own worth most of the time. He takes it to heart when he fails at his job. Greg has brown eyes and some fairly thick lashes and a few moles.
Nick is a very caring man, but easily creeped out by things. He is dedicated, so is Greg. Nick is a physically well-shaped man, he has great arms, with the tendons showing and his neck appears slightly overtrained and it also has the tendon thing going. He has very dark brown eyes. I'm not to sure about his voice, I mean I can hear it in my head, but I truly don't know how to describe it, he sounds a bit like Lance Armstrong though. Nick is misfortunate and often ends up getting hurt one way or another.
I hope it helps and there are of course many many more words to be said about these two. There are places where you can find transcripts of the series and that has helped me a lot when writing dialogue.

Date: 2005-11-29 08:44 pm (UTC)As you can likely tell, the voices kill me. Dead. yes.
Wow, I'm rambly. Anyway, I have the urge to call Nick's voice smooth or velvety, if that makes any sense. The accent too, my God. It's also got a really subtle sandpaper-ish roughness to it. Yes, I'm insane. I apologise. Tempted to say 'gravelly,' despite the nonexistence of the word.
Greg's voice is superlow and kind of uh... husky. XD It's very throaty, too. As in Eric talks in his throat and not his mouth (forgive me, my vocal training is interfering). I'd almost go as far as to call it 'chesty.' It's very warm, too.
I'm done rambling now. Have a good one.

Date: 2005-11-29 08:56 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, I'm not writing a voice fic =( It's just that I was thinking about some of the things that turn me on about certain people and I came up with voices for some, so I thought I could incorporate that into my story =) I don't even know what I voice fic is =S Care to enlighten?

Date: 2005-11-29 09:03 pm (UTC)Greg is probably the one who you could use hazel about, because they seem less dark, but not by much though.
Caramel can sometimes be that dark, coffee or mocca if you like.
I have discussed these things with others before in order to make fics feel right. It is tricky to get the right feeling going and it is always good to have someone to read the story over and come with suggestions and point out things that seems a bit off.
You asked a fair enough question, I just knew that I couldn't give a short answer;-)

Date: 2005-11-30 01:50 am (UTC)I don't believe I've ever read a voice fic. I was mainly just thinking about a fic that centred on voices as the theme. Perhaps I should attempt writing that. They both have hot voices. Yes.
Also, downloadable08, to that quote, I say 'Exactly.' Thank you.

Date: 2005-11-30 01:58 am (UTC)Ah, yes. You should. Cause the discription you gave of Greg's voice? ('Greg's voice is superlow and kind of uh... husky. XD It's very throaty, too.') Uh, yeah.. Let's just say it ah... made me tingle in the right places. XDD
Hot voices? Hell yes.
