Title: Bubbles, Nick, Bubbles (the first part can be found here)
Author: Bry
Fandom and Pairing: CSI; Nick/Greg
Rating: PG
Claim & Prompt: baby; I'm not sure yet, I think I'll decide based upon your responses. ([livejournal.com profile] wordclaim50)
Notes: I plan to pretty much just do scenes like this, in various points within the boys' lives. Like, next I might (actually, I plan to) do one where the babies are still in the hospital, and the next I might do one where they're toddlers, then go back to them at, say, 9 months old, then maybe on to 5--who knows. But, as I said, I like how I've laid this out and don't plan on abandoning it any time soon. I really love the first story, and I'm so glad so many people found it to be as nice as I did.
Summary: It's time for somebody's first bath.

Eric had cried the entire time, but not Evan. He tensed a little, making a few soft grunts as Greg laid him down in the small plastic tub, thereby submerging the boy's lower half in water. After the initial shock of beginning his very first bath—from only being cleansed with wet cloths for nearly a month—he seemed quite content to be where he was. He simply stared softly, arms up and fists curled as the wetness of a small washcloth swept over patches of his skin, sometimes leaving tiny trickles of water behind.

"You know, I don't just do this for anybody," Greg said with mock seriousness as he squirted some liquid baby wash into the water. "And when I do, well typically I plan to get a little something in return," he went on, beginning to wash Evan after the initial rinse. "Now, don't think that just because you're a baby I'll make an exception. Ask Eric—he's taking out the garbage for the week. But, since you're not being quite as fussy, I'll go a little easy on you."

Evan seemed enthralled and still watched Greg's eyes, seeming to enjoy being talked to, as they found he often did.

"Just remember—tomorrow it's my turn. Now, I like my baths with a little bit of bubbles. It's okay if you can only put in one cap full, just be sure to swish it around a little, even it out, and things will be fine." Greg began to rinse him this time, doing the same as before with clean water. "Also, I require a bit more water than you do. And I use the big tub. Are you writing this down? Something tells me you're not gonna remember all this."

"You're already handing out duties to our newborn sons?" Nick asked with sly amusement as he slipped into the room and then up to Greg, placing a few kisses at the back of his neck.

"Well, it's only fair. He gets this nice little bath and where's mine?"

"Tell ya what—you get him to sleep, too, and tonight I'll bathe you," Nick murmured between further kisses.

"Hmm." Greg gave a quizzical look to Evan as he lifted the boy from the water, letting the remnants trickle from his legs. "You're a crafty little one, sweet-cheeks. Don't think I didn't notice—turning on the cute as soon as Daddy walked in. Yeah, I'll let ya slide this time, but don't get used to it," Greg teasingly warned before placing a few rapid kisses to Evan's cheek, and before Nick wrapped him in a towel.

As Greg curled the boy into his arms, Nick lifted the baby bathtub from its place over the sink to dump it out in the real tub.

"You should probably start running that water now. As I told Evan—I expect bubbles. Even bubbles. In the front and the back."

"Yes, sir," Nick replied with a grin. "And which tub was it? The little one, right?"

"Ha," Greg huffed, rolling his eyes. "See, look at this sour puss—babies don't even find you funny."

"Yeah well, that sour puss looks like it's about to burst out crying."

"Well, can you blame him?" Greg looked to Evan, holding the boy in front of him, one hand holding his butt, another his head, and a forearm at his back. "We just need to get away from the lack-of-humor, don't we, sweets?" Greg looked back up. "Evan agrees, so we must be going now," Greg informed, thus heading out. "Bubbles, Nick, bubbles."
