Some Comment on the Weather
It seemed as if Las Vegas had been thrust violently into an alternate universe. The rain had come with sudden fury a week ago and hadn’t stopped since, drowning the Vegas residents in misery.
Greg leaned against a marble column with a cigarette between his lips, the tiny ember contrasting with the gray gloom of the day.
He heard footsteps echoing across the wet tiles but didn’t turn to look. He knew who it was.
“Uh, hey, Greg.” Nick’s voice was shaky, uncertain.
Greg stared off into the distance.
“Crazy weather we’ve been having…” Nick said. He was standing just out of sight.
Greg kept ignoring him. They stood there in silence for a few seconds as rain pattered on the ground.
Nick began to speak again but stopped mid-sentence as Greg spat out his cigarette and stamped it to dust with his foot. He pulled his coat tighter around him and disappeared into the rain. He was done playing foolish games.
A/N: I've been waiting for a plot bunny involving the rain :D
