I wasn't to happy with the original Five Senses III, so as I was listening to my iTunes playlist, a song popped up and I was like...woah. This could work! I started writing and ta-da. I have a revised version of Five Senses III! Yay!

Five Senses III: Where Were You Last Night

Four days since he had walked out on Nick and Greg still knew it was the wrong decision.

Greg couldn’t stand being without him, but how could Nick take him back? After those horrible things he said? Those words haunted him in his sleep:

“I’d rather be fucking someone else…”

He didn’t even mean them, they just popped out. They weren’t true yet he said them anyway, caught up in the heat of the moment. Greg couldn’t bring himself to face Nick at work or even answer his calls. Four days felt like four years.

Greg collapsed onto his couch after a shift of running in the opposite direction every time Nick came into sight, exhausted. Fumbling around on the coffee table, he hooked up his iPod to his stereo, set it to shuffle, and let the first random song wash over him.

The words hit Greg like an electric shock. He played the song again, listening closer.

…I called and I called

“Nick must be feeling the exact same way…” Greg thought aloud.

He looked guiltily at the answering machine, which was angrily blinking the number 5. Nick had called every day since The Fight and then some. Greg hadn’t picked up once. As the last chords of “Where Were You Last Night” faded away, Greg reached over and played the messages.

“…Greg, I miss you…we both said things we didn’t mean…please come back…”

“…I can’t handle it, I need you here…”

“…I want you, need you, love you…”

Greg could hear Nick gasp out a choked sob as he spoke the last words. It pained Greg to hear it, the knowledge that he made Nick feel so bad tearing a hole in his heart. A tear rolled down Greg’s cheek as he picked up the phone. He dialed Nick’s number with trembling hands.

Later, Greg stood on Nick’s doorstep and knocked three times. Nick opened the door and Greg threw himself into Nick’s arms.

“Let’s make this right,” he said into Nick’s shoulder.

A/N: There we go. I like this version much better than my original Five Senses III, lol. I love writing songfic!

Nightwish is my favorite band, and when I stumbled across this song, I immediately loved it! “Where Were You Last Night” is a cover of Swedish pop singer Ankie Bagger’s 1989 hit. Nightwish’s version can be found on the “Wish I Had an Angel” single. Here are the lyrics:
