This is just a quick post to remind members of the great beta reading services available to you. The mods have decided not to offer a beta service on this community as these two are already up and running.

The first is our sister community nick_greg. Simply make a post there asking for a beta. It's often useful to include the length of your story, what you're looking for (grammar help, characterization, etc.) and any story warnings that might apply. Anyone who is interested in betaing your work will reply to your post. Also, if you're interested in offering your services as a beta, you can advertise yourself here.

The second option is the beta service at what makes the Desert beautiful. The instructions on how to use this service are clearly laid out, and you have the choice of whether your story is beta'd by any member of the site in the 'Open moderation queue' or privately by one of the beta team in the 'Closed moderation queue.'

Obviously the beta programmes are voluntary but we would recommend that you at least consider using them, as a great story can often be spoiled by poor spelling and grammar. Both addresses are linked on our user info page.

EDIT: I can say now, I've tried the beta service from WMTDB, so I know what I'm talking about =)
