S9Ep16 - Turn, Turn, Turn
The final nominee in our Search for the Favorite Nick/Greg Moment of All Time! It's Nick's birthday and we're all invited \o/ Sadly we only get to join the small party at work, but we get four scenes with the guys working together (and we can imagine what happened when they got home, right?)


I - Happy Birthday, Nicky

Everyone: Happy birthday, Nicky!

Catherine: Your favorite!
Nick: Oh wow, thanks.

Langston: Here you are. Didn’t know if you were a stripe or a solid man.

Greg: I told him to let it ride on paisley.
{Oh Greg, just because you like to see your man in that;)}

Langston: You can wear it to your next arson scene.
Nick: Haha, fair enough. Thanks.
{Notice how he's still smiling at Greg;)}

Riley: Hey, you know *some place* has a free breakfast on your birthday. My treat.
Nick: Ah, not tonight. Maybe another time.
{I got plans with my man later;0)}

Riley: They know you’re lying when you try it any other night.
{How much are we liking Greg's sweatervest, by the way? Answer: A LOT}

Riley: Guilty! You’ve done it to.
Catherine [on phone]: Okay, got it.

Catherine: Uhm, I got a 419, East Freemont.

Catherine: A place called Park Pines Motel.
Nick: *jumps up* I’ll take it.

Catherine: But, uh..what about your cake?
Nick: Uhm.. save me a piece! Thanks.
*storms out*
{Wait. What was he looking at Greg for? He seemed desperate}

II - Crime Scene...

Greg: You do know the crime scene is in the next room, right?

Greg: I always look for the yellow tape.
{Ba-da-bing}

Nick: There is something dead up there, Greg.
{He's clearly not amused}

[OS] Nick: And it is big, heavy and smells awful.

Nick: One of us has got to go up there and get it.

Greg: You know what, it is your birthday.

Greg: I’m keeping that gift card.*
{*snorts* A gift card, what a manly gift.}

Nick: What…? Whow…

Greg: I think I found your big drip.

Greg: Looks like he crawled in the same way I did.

Greg: Always die downstairs.
{Ba-dam-pam}



III - At the Morgue

Nick: Dale Durney. Same address as the motel. I think we just found that missing manager.

SuperDave: Wow. That is a lot of green.

Greg: And a little grey. That has gotta be insulation.

26. [OS] Greg: Found the same stuff in the crawlspace.

Greg: In a "No-tell" like Park Pines, the ceiling is a favorite spot to stash the goodies.

IV - Back to that crawl space!

Greg: Found the receiver to that remote control.

Nick: Can you tell what it’s for?
{Notice how Nick can't see Greg: he can only hear him but he still needs to keep an eye on him, ahw}

Greg: Yeah, it is wired to the access panel above you.

Greg: I killed the circuit.

Greg: Hey, there’s a layer of metal sandwiched in the middle here.

Greg: It’s like my 8th grade science fare project! A homemade electro magnet.
{His enthusiasm is adorable;)}

Nick: Wire wraps around an iron rod, current runs through it creating a magnetic field.

Nick: Genius.

Nick: The guy who lives here said that the manager Dale was beating on room 7’s door every night, saying the coops were coming.

Greg: Don’t remember many call-outs.
Nick: Me either. I think it was a setup.

Greg: But why did he shoot the dead guy?
Nick: I don’t think he knew Dale was up there, man.

Nick: The panel was still magnetized.

Hmmm.


So what kind of giftcard did Greg -supposedly- give Nick? Was it a real present or maybe something like a coupon for services Greg would provide? *grins*
