Who really knew which scars were the true ones? The physical which everyone could see, or the emotional which you hide away hoping and praying that no-one will ever find.
Greg knew most of his scars were obvious to anyone who looked; the consequences of getting blown half way to hell in the lab explosion, and he was kind of glad for this. It meant that people didn't try and look for the deeper scars, the ones that were inflicted upon him on a daily basis. They were the scars that formed over the wounds he got ever time he felt that twinge in his gut or the knife in his heart. Every time that Nick looked at him and smiled or touched him, especially when he touched him.
He knew Nick didn't know, he wasn't sure if he ever wanted Nick to know. It was his secret and they were his scars.
They weren't there to be shared with the world but to be taken out and examined by him and only him when it was dark and the ghosts came calling.
They were his scars and he was glad to have them.
