I was supposed to post it earlier, but January was crazy and February hasn't been much better so far, so it took me longer than I thought.

Anyway, here it is, short and sweet.

Title: Tell-Tale Heart
Fandom: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Pairing: Nick/Greg
Rating: PG-13/Teen
Summary: Nick's cranky when he's hungry
A/N: Inspired by the following dialogue response prompt by creativepromptsforwriting:

"Your heart is racing."

"Could you please take your hand off my chest?"

...

"Come on, G! Get out of that shower and let's get breakfast. I'm starving," Nick called out, pacing up and down the room.

"Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get the smell of rotten food out of your hair?" Greg replied, voice barely audible over the sound of the running water.

"You could try wearing a cap next time you go dumpster diving."

"And ruin my carefully styled locks? No way."

Read the rest on AO3

comments

But here it is, finally. And on Eric Szmanda's birthday too! Isn't that perfect?

Title: Accidentally in love
Fandom: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Pairing: Nick/Greg
Rating: NC-17/Explicit
Summary: After Greg accidentally comes out to Nick, the relationship between them gradually changes. Set after S11E12 "A kiss before frying".

"But she smelled so good," Greg whined, pouting. He downed what was left of his drink and sighed. "How can someone who smells so good be so evil?"

"You really liked her, didn't you?" Nick asked, offering him a sympathetic smile.

"Yeah."

He slumped forward over the table, resting his cheek on top of his crossed forearms, and ran a finger down the empty glass, leaving a clear trail on the condensation. He looked miserable. Nick patted his back before grabbing his beer bottle and raising it to his lips.

"Maybe I should just stick to dating guys."

Nick almost choked on his beer.

Read the rest on AO3.

comments

I didn't have anything planned for today, but a few days ago I got inspired and went back to a ficlet I had started a while ago and never finished. It's silly rather than romantic, but it's better than nothing, right? I might even write a smutty sequel, stay tuned.

Title: Professor Stokes
Fandom: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Pairing: Nick/Greg
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Greg likes Nick's new look.
A/N: Inspired by this gif.

...

"I like the new look, it gives off sexy professor vibes."

Nick looked up from the newspaper he was reading. "Oh, professor Stokes, I really don't want to fail this class. I'm willing to do anything to improve my grades. Anything," he added, stopping next to him and leaning a hip against the table in what Nick was sure was supposed to be a seductive pose.

He shook his head.

"You're such a freak."

Read the rest on AO3.

comments

Google searches, filtered, unfiltered searches on FF.net, posting to tumblr and other communities, and I got nothing.

This is a major shot in the dark, as I know this place doesn't get updated or checked often, but I've been searching for a fic I literally found a few days ago and then suddenly lost. I saw it on FF.NET, it was extremely well written, with the linear page breaks instead of anything else being used like CSICSICSI or XXXXX or anything like that.

It was a kidnapping trope fic, where Nick broke up with Greg originally, then they end up becoming trapped in this area back to back on chairs, with a guy who's whumping the crap outta both of them, and there's a bomb under their chairs and a flood happening, and they're eventually found...

In the interim, Nick manages to get Greg and he facing each other on the chairs, and Greg's about to go down and Nick uses his belt to tie them together. Pretty sure this was set post Greg becoming a CSI.

So hopefully, someone sees this. Take care, guys!

comments

Also, the timeline in this story is kind of stretched out. I know dates as they appear in the eps often correlate to actual air dates/present day, but I haven't gone through and worked it out, so for the purposes of this story, several months go by between the episodes in question.

I am counting this as a light fill for the power dynamics square of my round two Trope Bingo card. I think it counts as being at least a little subversive, because the power dynamics between Nick and Greg aren't the focus of the story, but more a happy accident of compatibility between them once they finally work shit out.

The title comes from a Sinatra song, because Sinatra was the working title of the fic, even though his music barely features.

Read on AO3 ~ Read on DW ~ Read on LJ ~ Read on WMTDB

comments

It's your instinct to show kindness, but in this case it feels a little too close to cruelty to mention that you've seen the cracks in his armour.
Content: Hurt/comfort, episode tag, friends to lovers, first time.
A/N: I wrote this fic purely because I wanted to play with the emotional and physical fallout of the lab explosion. Though getting blown up isn't a traditional rite of passage, it was an important part of Greg's evolution and maturation from lab rat to field mouse, so I'm counting this as a fill for my coming of age/rites of passage square for trope-bingo, though I didn't write it with that aim in mind and only checked my card for complementary themes after the story was complete.

Read on AO3 # Read on DW # Read on LJ # Read on WMTDB

*

Title: Murder Backwards
Author: iamshadow
Fandom: CSI
Pairings: Gen, Greg & Nick
Rating: G
Word Count: 2,263
Summary: Let it go, Warrick says, and though he's a friend, Nick can't just smile and pretend it doesn't matter that Catherine did what she did.
Content: Hurt/comfort, episode tag (s07e13: Redrum), friendship.
A/N: This isn't a songfic, but in the course of looking for a title for this story, I stumbled across a song called Murder Backwards by Wind In Sails, and by sheer coincidence, the lyrics are all about letting go of the past and moving forwards. It's pretty nice guy-and-guitar melancholy stuff, so if that's your thing, you can watch the film clip on Youtube or buy a digital copy of the album from the band website.

Read on AO3 & Read on DW & Read on LJ & Read on WMTDB

comments

But what if he couldn't? An AU where Greg's life takes a different, more rocky path to meeting the CSI team for the first time.
Content: Alternate path, what if? AU, case fic, psychic powers, hurt/comfort.
A/N: I recently mainlined all the CSI to get up to date. I'd watched regularly in early years, but had missed much of later seasons, so seeing the series as a whole and watching the characters grow and develop was really interesting. In particular, I loved the revisiting of Greg's heritage and connection to the supernatural, and the storyline of what is essentially a bit of a crisis of faith in Ghosts of the Past. I had a bingo square for 'fork in the road' on my shiny new round two trope-bingo card, so, to subvert it I thought, what if pre-series Greg reached that fork in the road between science and the supernatural, and rather than choosing one path, he kind of got stuck there, unable to definitively commit wholly to either at the exclusion of the other? This is what I ended up with.

Though there are light references to events, places and people through all extant seasons (to the end of Season 13), this story stands pretty well alone, and doesn't have heavy ties to major plot arcs, so should be enjoyable and understandable to a casual viewer.

Read on AO3 : Read on DW : Read on LJ : Read on WMTDB

comments

Also, sex, drugs and implied murder
Warnings: It’s CSI meets Gossip Girl. I’m not sure what else you need to know. Also, this takes place in between seasons two and three of GG and during season 10 of CSI. It’s sort of AU in that Sofia and Sara never left in the first place. The break up between Chuck and Blair is (probably) made up. Unbeta’d, so all errors are my own.
Summary: Eric should have known that going with Chuck on a weeklong bender after Blair broke his heart (again) in Las Vegas wouldn’t end well.
Spoilers: None.

They’re talking about someone named Hodges and, from what they’re saying, he sounds like the most annoying guy in the world but he seems like the only one in the entire lab who knows that they’re an item, which Eric finds amusing, because they work with a bunch of investigators and it’s not like they’re discreet about their relationship.

comments
