*runs in at the last possible second*

OK, hi, everybody! Wow - I'm later than a late thing that's late. Sorry for holding up the game.

Here goes: I'm Jenna, and I'm a recent convert to the subtexty Nick/Greg love, though I've been through the wilds of slashy subtext (Clark/Lex, Jim/Blair, Remus/Sirius – though the “sub” in several of those pairings may be debatable!)

I never meant to get into CSI – matter of fact, I held out from watching it for about six years. No small feat, considering my husband is a total CSI freak who's never missed an episode. The very first ep I ever saw was “Grave Danger,” (on a tangent – does anyone else refer to it as the “Nick in a Box” episode, sung to the tune of that one particular SNL sketch featuring Justin Timberlake? Just wondering).

Much to my shame, the overwhelming 'these are the slashy guys' feeling I got from GD was, actually, Nick/Warrick. Of course I had to go look for fanfic about it, and ran across – well, I won't mention it here, since I'm pretty sure Nick/Other fic isn't anyone's cuppa) – this very long, very well-plotted, very believable story that I absolutely adored.

Skip ahead several years to Summer 2010. (Yes, it took me THAT LONG.) I was poking through my LJ tags and ran across that story again. Now, I have a friend (*waves to [livejournal.com profile] rhiannon_jehane) who's been a fan of N/G for a long time, and after re-reading that story, I (for whatever reasons) started wondering, "okay, I see the N/W, but a lot of people see the N/G...what am I missing?"

Decided to poke around on YouTube to catch some N/G moments, and the first thing I found?

Season 7, Episode 4....(say it with me)....Fannysmackin'.

*significant pause*

So, yes. Well then. I pretty much hit the ground running from there. Backtracked through this comm and several others (esp. [livejournal.com profile] ship_manifesto) getting the scoop on the boys – would you believe I had never run across the Eric/George rumors before this summer? - and promptly immersed myself in Nick/Greg goodness, where I've happily camped ever since.

My favorites are, in no particular order:

*anything by [livejournal.com profile] caroline_crane

*(AU) Devotion by [livejournal.com profile] kissingchaos9;

*anything by [livejournal.com profile] iamtheenemy;

*anything by [livejournal.com profile] geekwriter;

*anything by [livejournal.com profile] kennedy (with a special mention to “return of old crazy hair,” which made me laugh hard enough that I literally fell off my chair. Kudos for that.)

As you can tell, I have a tendency to find an author I enjoy and then read (and reread, and reread) all of their stuff.

I wish I could tell you about the vids I like, but *hangs head in shame* – I've never seen a N/G vid.

Okay, here's an anecdote to demonstrate how obsessed I am with these boys these days...I went to get a massage today (yes, I know, lucky me), and I spent the majority of the hour wondering if Nick would be able to enjoy a massage given by a woman – (he'd be laying down! On a bed-like object! With a woman! Touching his bare skin!) - which led to whether or not Greg would enjoy the same - (but the scars! Is there nerve damage? How extensive are they?) - at which point I decided that they'd prefer to leave the masseuse out of the equation and just rub oil onto one another. I love my brain, that's all I'm saying.

Couldn't begin to tell you which of the boys I prefer...though I'm on the Lex side of Clark/Lex and the Blair side of Jim/Blair, I find it extremely difficult to choose either Nick or Greg - probably because they're so well suited to one another as a pair. By no means am I suggesting that I'd kick either of them out of bed for eating crackers, of course, though I'd certainly prefer the both of them, and I think they'd be happier that way as well, see above re: massage..)

yes. so. That's me, and my breathless, run-on, overly excited, addicted-to-parentheses summary of Who I Am And Why I Love Nick/Greg.

And now, I tag....[livejournal.com profile] hiddenmuse!

Hello! Thanks for playing, it's so cool to find people with similar interests: Remus/Sirius FTW!
I'm glad you found Nick and Greg eventually;) Oh, the joy of it being brand new: you still have so many old episodes to catch up to and stories to discover:)

In your enthusiasm you nicknamed some authors; here are the full names of [livejournal.com profile] geekwriter143 and [livejournal.com profile] kennedy_unknown, they are two favorites of mine too. *smishes them both*

If you're looking for good stories, you should check out the community's reclists (http://community.livejournal.com/nickngreg/tag/reclist); there are a lot of awesome authors mentioned there:)

(And feel free put those fantasies into a fic *g*)

I’m a little late, but –

Hi there, ella menno!

I’ve often referred to Grave Danger as the Nick in a Box ep, but I never made the song connection (though I do have the urge to sing God Bless Texas every time I see Nick walking away from the camera while wearing a deliciously fitting pair of jeans).

♫It’s Nick in a Box♫

Yeah, that is catchy.

Makes it a little less painful, to think of it that way. (And with Nick and his fantastic jeans, you want to sing "God Bless Texas", and all I can think is "Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy", as cliched as that one is...)
